Stainless Marine Dry vs Dry to the tip
I don’t want to be “ that boat “ with the stupid loud exhaust and not a boat to back it up so to speak. I still have time to make a change on my new stuff and my risers be “ dry” and dump the water overboard somewhere. Just how much louder will it be if I do go that route? I’m really nervous to spend this much money and end up having the same stupid problem. Real pros and cons are wanted and any and all advice please!
thanks! sincerely the reversion water in oil guy LOL |
Curious to read answers
but i would think it would be stupid loud for nowadays!!! |

My Merc 420 TRS dry to the tip tails were 93db when the sheriff gave me my ticket. It was cool for a couple of summers and then became annoying real quick. I run mufflers now and can listen to the radio while idling 30 mins out to the lake.

And this is dry to the tip on my TRS tails. 1" water pipes at the end.

yes he has a set that are TRS it looks like but have o2 sensors and a slight bend to them so not completely sure they’d work yet |
It would make sense to me to run dry to the tip than add a decent set of mufflers to take some of the crackle out of it. My bud had a Cig Mistress with dry Gils. Not too bad going down the lake in the boat. But I could hear him loud and clear all the way home for 2 miles from my house to his! His current boat a Powerplay has mufflers (full time) and it is very mellow with no reversion. As long as you have narrowed it down to the risers, that is probably your least expensive options.
