dmann- Boat came from factory with them on so do not know the diffence it made. As you will see from your reading of OSO threads is procharger sucks on tech support. I have emailed tehem on their bad tech support but never got a responce from them. (Of course when you suck why would you respond) OSO is where you need to come for tech support.

Dmann- I have twin 454 Mag MPI's in my Formula 312. The 'chargers are a great help on the top end, but not "out of the hole", especially on a heavy/large boat. They added probably 15-17 mph increase in speed (over 83 mph GPS). The only caution I have for you is to be sure there is (on any system) a 100 micron filter just before the fuel rail. A clogged injector can & will fry your engine. It would do this blown or not, just a lot faster when blown. Been there, done that!! (search for "meltdown" for an explanation.).
This is the second Formula with Prochargers and I have been extremely happy with them...... more so than owners of Whipples around here.

Dmann,

I added a Stage II Procharger to a 454 MAG (carb) and picked up 18 MPH (62-80 MPH GPS) on my 25 ft Baja (26' 9" if you add the molded platform). I have more than 70 hours on it and have had no problems what so ever.

Set-up is important. Proper fuel system (boost referenced and properly sized puck-up and lines) and proper air/fuel mixture (carburator set-up in my case).

Mine ran great from the get go and I'm hoping to have a trouble free season in 03!

I'VE DYNOED SEVERAL MOTORS WITH PROCHARGERS AND THEY REALLY WORK WELL AND ARE A NEAT PACKAGE
MAKE A TON OF POWER WITH LITTLE TROUBLE

Hey, guys thanks for all of the info. I think I am convinced that a procharger is the way to go. I am sure I will be back during the install for advise.

So far my procharger has worked great. 502 mag efi, Stainless Marine exhaust, Arizona programed ECU, stage 1 intercooled running max 5lbs boost. I have it in a 27 Fountain and run about 12mph faster. Some things to consider, be sure to add a fuel pressure guage if you don't have one, fuel pressure is very important. Add a boost guage so you can tell when you are on power band and don't push a stock engine much over 5lbs boost. There are several good deals on Procharger kits in classifieds. If you get a new one get the self contained version, no need to punch oil pan. You'll be amazed at the difference when you get the boost guage on the positive side!!!!

105 !! Please, Please check the following stuff, since AZ SPD did your work.

Motor mount nuts not tight (1" gap nut to eng bracket.)
Loose exhaust manifold bolts ( burned exhaust gasket as a result)
Loose intake bolts
no fuel filter installed AFTER the fuel pump ( & between pump & injectors)
On mine- stripped head bolts, loose head bolts, missing bolts, etc. Chewed up two couplers (twins) due to loose motor mounts.

They will never do work for me again.
