Can the power steering pump be mounted on the other side?
#21
Hey Cuda, redundancy is everything when it comes to steering. Last year I was at speed in Lake Cumberland and broke an alternator belt, which threw off the PS belt in the process. I took a HARD left and damn near ate the shore.
I just rigged a Latham system for my boat this winter, on a boat that originally only had one pump. Randy from Cobra Power (305 893-5018) has a warehouse full of parts, both new and used, and he was able to set me up with a pump, brackets, cooler, etc.
Call Ted Chance from Latham (800 422-7267) and he can set you up with a"Y" valve to accomodate twin PS pumps, as well as all of the brass fittings to make it happen.
Good luck... Summers' comin'!
