I would have said 70-ish on the 502. I'd have never figured the 330 would run 70-ish.

Default 22 Scarab

Hey Greg,
I had a 22 with small block +- 400Hp ran 69.3 Gps with 6 adults & coolers squeezed in. Sold it just after I put that motor in & never bothered to check before the sale. It should do low to mid 70's

Default 454/ 330hp

This boat will run 61.1 mph on gps - sounds like the speedo is way off...With a 502/ 415hp I would guess 68mph

A buddy of mine has a 97 22 Scarab with a 350 Magnum. We did some upgrades to it, stainless marine exhaust, changed to a comp cam and cam kit, an Edelbrock intake and matching carb. also did a valve job.

The boat ran 52.3 on gps before mods and after it ran 54.5

With a 415 hp 502 I`ll guess at 62-65 and no more. This boat ran very bow heavy, we did find a slight hook and that is getting removed soon.

I had a '95 at one time. With the stock 330 it ran 70 on the speedo but 62 on GPS. Put on a set of rectangular port heads, Ultradyne cam, Edelbrock intake, Holley carb, and Eddie Marine exhaust. Ran 69.9 GPS with about 400 hp (desktop dyno said 420hp at 5000rpm. This lasted one season then I spun the main bearings probably because the stock 330 hp oil cooler couldnt keep up. Bought a new GM 502/502 and put it in. Stepped up to a 27" Mirage prop and the boat would do upper 70's but it was real loose after 75 GPS. You had to have perfectly flat water to get it above 75. The slightest ripple would start a chine walk that could get out of hand quickly. The boats do have a built in hook and they do tend to run bow heavy so dont run a stern lifting prop.

Just to clear up I was stating a speedo speed based on what I have seen my 7.4/310 run. I have not run one with a GPS. Mine runs 73/75 @ 4600RPM on the speedo.

rjcardinal,

How are you mounting that Anchor-shade? Is it just strapped down or have you found a new way to rig it on a deck plate?
