All you do is loosen the 2 clamps that hold the heat exchanger to the crossover and pry it up VERY carefully. It should just pop up off the seals without taking any of the hoses loose. It takes a little patience to get the seals out and in , but all in all it was pretty simple.

I did mine in the spring and it was leaked down (over the winter) to the level the seals are at.
can't remember what it took to fill it back up to the cold line on the tank 1-1.5 gals I think. No biggie, it's cheap enough.
I think I only unhooked the raw water hoses. You don't have to lift it very far.

Ok how about this I was checking my oil in my 496 ho and antifreeze starting gushing out. The seal between the heat exchanger and cross over split. I actually superglued together to make it home the next day. No big deal right things happen... I installed the new seal on both sides while I had it up. That day a hour and a half of running my engine shuts down??? Same seal split again, this time I had a spare and antifreeze so I had to do a repair in the Gulf of Mexico.. Now thats a little much I have a call to dealer to see if 525 or 600 hp engines might have better part.
