MIRAGE PROP GO TO ACCLERATOR DESIGN
1 Attachment(s)
We have made our own changes to the Mirage prop and the Mirage Plus .
Our new design lets this prop plane out very quick with no blow-out holds great in the corners and allows you to trim Higher than normal for excellent lift creatiing massive accleration in Mid-Range and additional top speeds up to 3 mph. call and ask for Darin on The ACCLERATOR!!!!!!!!!!! |

hey Darin just seeing if my prop showed up from ups yesterday for the repitch and accelerator upgrade.
|
I had my Mirages cut by Darin at Houston Prop and you would never know they were the same props....as soon as the ice is gone here I will be able to give them a test.....Thanks again Darin.

Darin,, what is the most rpm you can get out of a 26 bravo 1 with labbing ??.. I have heard up to 300 additonal over stock. ??

2 weeks is cool i probably a couple of weeks worth of projects to finish up before I am ready for the water anyway.
|
I had this done for my 22' Scarab and really liked the results. It really cured my blow out problem in the corners. I was able to trim much higher indicated on the gauge but I was not able to do a top speed run because of rough seas. Weather pending I will be out on Clear Lake this Sat or Sun.
Thanks Darin Roby |

more rpm needed

Ancient Chinese Secret:D But not to worry you will not loose speed.
|
Darin,, Thanks,, What i'm getting at here is if the boat runs 69 at 4,700 w/ a 26 bravo 1 and I wanna get closer to the rev limiter say 5,100 w/ a labbed 26, theoretically, would I gain approx. 4 mph ?? thanks Chris.

speed gain
1 Attachment(s)
yes,you should gain more speed as the motor is building more hp at the higher end of the rpm limit,
I, cant say exactly what you will gain for speed but we will get as much as possible. it will definitely make a difference. Darin |
new props

we have aluminum props for sale at 95.00.
no hub kit , just use the same one in your Bravo-one or Mirage . any motor. These are NEW . |
polishing of most anything
1 Attachment(s)
here is a skegguard we removed the stabilizer fin and welded it solid. we polish and weld alot of different items.
|
There is roughly a speed gain of 1.5 mph per 100 RPM increase across the board assuming an equal amount of prop slip. As Darin knows that prop and water relationship is akin to a ring and pinion with a variable of slip. If your speed does not increase equal to the RPM increase, then you have more slip. That is a round about answer to your question. As far as the ancient Chinese part I don't know, he is the expert on that.

Originally posted by HOUSTONPROP here is a skegguard we removed the stabilizer fin and welded it solid. we polish and weld alot of different items. I have (8) 4" x 8" stainless steal plates that I need polished - they are currently in the rough stage - is this something that you can do?? |
polishing
yes ,no problem as long as it's not 4'x8' :D
send me a picture or just ship away,we will be as reasonable as we can on cost, just depends if they require any welding ,and have a lot of foreign object debris marks. ;) also what is the thickness? any idea |

Darin,
I'm sending one out today |
Is there anything to be gained in midrange? I know that labbing typically increases top speed but sometimes you loose cruise speed.
I am running about 51mph at 3600, and 75-77 mph (depending on the load, temp etc) at 5050 rpms. The motors are designed to run up to about 5200-5300. What kind of gains can I expect across the board. I am running 25P Mirage Plus in a, 86' Scarab Panther with TRS drives. Merc recommended that I may want to try a set of 27 labbed mirage plus to keep the cruise speed up and gain a little bit on the top end. What do you think of this idea? I am affraid of bigger props on these TRS as I have blown lowers twice. |

Panther there is nothing but all good to be gained on The ACCLERATOR keep with the 25's The holeshot, midrange and top end is increased.
Jim V- I will call you when it arrive to get instructions,Thanks Darin:) |
Can you PM me the cost.

Darrin Just a few questions....First off I have a Ballistic prop and notice some things that look similar. What can I expect to gain with the accelerator design applied to a ballistic? Also I have a BRAND NEW 17" Mirage Plus that I have no use for. I think the dia. Is way to large for my app. I get my best slip# with a 21p Mirage but it has a solid hub(which I don't really want) and the Mirage is a DOG in holeshot and acceleration. I do get my top speed though but I can only pull about 4600 out of it and need about 5300. Can my 17" Mirage Plus be worked to give me the holeshot/acceleration of my 17" Ballistic and still pull the rpms I need? I can email you with more detailed info if needed.
Thanks Randy "Bad-Habit" |
Bad Habit
Randy we can work the 17 Mirage up to a 19 pitch and change it to our ACCLERATOR design which will work great and pull the rsssssssssssssssssssssss :D you need ,give me a call and we can talk more in detail,Thanks Darin
|
Darin can you do the conversion to a Plain Mirage solid hub? or does it have to be a +????
|
Dyno
Yes,WE CAN ,the Mirage is thinner to start so it make it a little easier on our part but the performance will turn out the same.:)
|
shoot me a Price......pair of 23 Mirage's converted to Acclerators...
|
Dyno
yes you have mail,
there is a couple of options ,satin or polished finish. Thanks Darin |
Darin,
As soon as I get time to run mine I want to have you do my props. I need to know wht my RPM and speed is before I send them. They are 23 pitch mirage pluses right and left. What is typical turn around time and a cost? Thanks Brian |
