Unhappy Dominator problem

I have a 604 with a 1050 dominator. Rebuilt the motor this year. The dominator secondary accelorator pump did not seem to work right so i took it apart and blew it out. Seemed o.k. Put it on the boat, everything sounded good. Revved it up a few times and it started loading up. Looked in the carb and gas was pouring down one of the secondary venturis. Rev it easy and sounds great. Rev it a little harder and it fouls plugs. Any suggestions or know anyone good with these carbs?

its either got to be somthing (dirt/rtv) in the needle and seat or in the metering block or fuel pressure is set to high.did you check the needle and seat? if the needle has somthing in it and isnt closing thats your prblem.the only other thing i can think of happened to me on a 1050 years ago the metering block was warped and when the motor sat overnite the bowl went dry.gas dripped down the motor.after messing with the carb for weeks i put on a new metering block and the problem was solved.

Default 1050 Dominator

I have the same carb, lower your fuel bowl. Remember these carbs are geared to run not idle.

On another note what is your starting ritual. I give mine two considerable pumps turn the key as i give her another pump and she fires hard.

That's what I use on 540's. They idle and run perfect.

I have a 8896-1, so whats the great advantage of the 8082-1 except for the linkage difference.
