Default Flexible Exhaust hose?

Swapped a 502 for a 496, the risers are about 1 1/2" higher. First time out melted holes in the tops of my exhaust hoses due to a tweak in the top of the hose causing a spot of no water flow and gasses directly on the rubber. Is there flexible hose out there. I've got a 15" run from the riser to the tip and need to to make a very slight S-bend to drop the 1 1/2". Any sugggestions would be appreciated.

Yes there is a wet exhaust silicone hose "blue in color" that is very soft and pliable relevant to the thicker more rigid common black hose. I recently installed my own silent-choice and discovered not only is the 496Ho wider than the 502 to Y-pipe setup, but those pre-made short hoses to the Y-pipes were just too short. So anyway, a marine mech friend of mine turned me on to the blue silicone stuff and I cut my own to length and it was a dream to use.

He has a couple of suppliers but I can't recall the name of the company. I'm sure if you called your local marine shop and described the hose, they would know as a lot are going to them more and more.

Is the Blue silicone hose USCG approved? Does wet exhaust hose need to be?

http://www.tridentmarine.com/stage/wetex_hose.htm

Check out this link for the newer more improved exhaust hose that exceeds the standard black hose parameters...
