I am thinking about using the mobile I 20-50 talked about on another thread. My last two motors have read the same pressure on my teleflex victor guage and I was out yesterday and I cannot figure out what each tick mark means. The guage starts with 0 the next tick mark I don't know how much presure that is? there is a KPa 70 tick half way between the first tick and the second. After the second tick there is 40 psi. Then there is another tick mark followed by a 480KPa and then the final 80 psi.
My high volume pump will read just under 40psi most of the time. Hot idle it will drop to 70 KPa. What is 70 KPa in pounds?
I have never really thought about the tick marks because there is alot of room for guage error. I have not tried a mechinical guage. The engine runs fine and sounds good.
When my motor gets hot my 30 wt does get thin. This might be a good motor for the mobile i 20-50. My last motor ran the same pressure and the only part in common was the cam. I might have a cam or lifter problem that is causing a little less than I would like to see in oil pressure.
i am not a big fan of synthetic oil. I have tried mobile I grease on one axle of my trailer and amsoil on the other. Mobile I grease cost me three out of four bearings. Amsoil grease was fine I lost no bearings. I have switched back to Lubrimatic boat wheel bearing grease.
Does anyone know what each tick on the teleflex guages mean?
Thanks

Usually its goes by 20's. and I think 30 w oil would be to low, I would use a straight 40 or 50, or the moble 1.

Try here
http://www.control.co.kr/dic/press_conv.htm#kPa
or KPA x .14504 = PSI
Do not know about your gauges though.
