Re: Rebuilt engines in progress
Looks like very nice pk tq and hp rpms. So many times you look at marine guys dyno numbers and they are peaking way too high and they wonder why the boat won't run. Should be nice running engines. I really like the engine color too. What would you say that most looks like in stock colors, ford blue? I think this Dave guy is my new idol

Re: Rebuilt engines in progress
Those engines only have very small hyd roller cams and the bone stock GM heads with absolutely no port work whatsoever on them! Very basic blower engines---Not too shaby.

Re: Rebuilt engines in progress
Seeing the pic of the oil cooler and all the trash inside makes me think "how could that be prevented?".
Why couldn't a small sea strainer be installed prior to the cooler to keep trash like that out?. A small one like the PWC's use. Sounds like simple solution but nobody's done it. |
Re: Rebuilt engines in progress
Kaama,
Very impressive numbers, nice job by Dave at Wesco Engines! They also look as good as they run. Bob |
Re: Rebuilt engines in progress
hope mine are next in line!!!Way to go Dave!!!

Re: Rebuilt engines in progress
I happened to stop in at Wesco Sunday when Dave was doing the final runs on engine #2. He set up the load to simulate a couple different part-throttle cruise power settings, one at 3500 and 0 boost, the other at 4000 and 2-3 lbs. boost. At 3500 and 0 boost the uncorrected horsepower displayed on the computer was 260 and the 4000@2 lbs showed 370 uncorrected horsepower.
Congratulations on the engine packages Dennis. If I take the boat to Florida in February I hope we can do some boating with you. |
Re: Rebuilt engines in progress
Congrats on the #'s . It ought to be a good reliable package. That TQ should set ya back in the seat also:D
I wonder why it had a dip in the TQ at 4200rpm tq745.60 hp593.88 ? My Chevelle motor did the same on the dyno it showed up in the fuel curve in the carb. |
Re: Rebuilt engines in progress
Doug (Pure Andrenaline) just drove up from Indiana and dropped off his two Donovan all aluminum blower engine's out of his Top Gun at Dave's shop yesterday for some new valve springs, and dyno test/tune.

Re: Rebuilt engines in progress
Dave's got to start locking the door to keep customers from dropping stuff off. otherwise he'll never get his race boat done.
