The blowers are B&M 250 units. Holley is still rebuilding them and charged me $550 to do one.

You'r best bet is The Blower Shop in California. He worked for B&M before Holley bought them. I have used him before and he did a great job for a reasonable price.

Did not clean out the passages. According to my buddy Dave it is actually better to leave it in there. He said it forms a coating which actually inhibits additional rusting. Where my water pressure gage hooks op the rust restricts the psi.also where your putting the motor together and turn it over trash [rust]falls out ,it might get in the motor on assembly. Dave's been building engines a long time and does not feel the rust is a problem.
He first built these about 10+ years ago. A freshening up here and there but they are still running today. The blocks are getting a little tired and we are in process of building a new set of 600 Merlins for the cat. |

EC39, looking good. I haven't been to dave's shop for a few days so it was nice to see the pictures of the shiny new engines in progress.
The Blower Shop wanted $1000 just to pull my B&M 250 apart. I'm sure i would have gotten a top-notch job from them but I wasn't in a postion to spend $1000-1500 on it. Holley did an excellent job on it. |
