I figure most just need strips and bearings. I guess there is a deference between rebuilding and just a refreshen up.

Thanks for the info David

Two rotors had to be replaced. These are the 1071's from the cat. They also polished them

Re: Rebuilt engines in progress

Stopped by Dave Wesseldyk's (WESCO) shop today. I think it's known that parts can always break in an engine without it always the engine builder's fault. I suppose there can be a lot of rumors out there as to what to use, and what not to use. However, the bad/costly thing about this is that if parts/components are STILL installed in an engine even if WARNING NOTICES are ignored or component reliability is not researched properly---well, it can lead to sour grapes in a heartbeat on what was expected to be a fun day.

Anyway, Dave is a seasoned marine engine builder, and I think his idea is that he wouldn't want what I mentioned above to happen to anyone---so, I though it would be appropriate to post it here, and on Linster's other thread concerning timing sets.

Dave showed me this WARNING NOTICE (post #41) from Callies concerning the use of Multi-Keyway timing gears as shown on one of the engines in Linster's "Gen VI Timing Set" thread.

The correct drives for the blowers are arriving tomorrow. While we are waiting for a couple more parts, like the new valve covers because the old ones were not high enough for the new jesel rocker bolts, Dave will have spray can in hand and painting the black to a lovely blue to match the boat.

Dyno yet this week.

Ship next week of no problem.

TNT installs.

We are in water running before the New Year if TNT is not too busy.

Yeah, it's too bad some people don't listen to Dave the first time he tells them they're being obtuse.
