Good ideas! That is what I did this past summer. I had so much fun, and I actually got paid for it!!!! Find the local hot rod boat shop and start hanging out there, just being there you will pick up tons of info.

rebuilding motor- keep everything in order...... main caps, etc.

Buy the Dennis More book on sbc power, go junk yarding, find a basic 4 banger, and tear it apart, put it back together.

www.howstuffworks.com one of the best sites out there, and they have pictures

As far as school, not sure about how it is out there, but our tech school is a joke. It is rated high, but I dont think I learned a thing there, except to lock my doors and hide my valuables.

Whenever you have a question about cars/boats/engines ask on here, most people have knowledge of those, with 20k members at least someone has an answer.

Thanks fellas, I appreciate the serously replys, and no one bashing me kind of like sutphen but thats only cause I joke around with him alot--hes a good guy.

But anyways, they dont offer stuff like that at my school because they say I go to a "private" school and they want us being like doctors and lawyers and stuff so they dont offer machine classes or anything which sucks.

Stay away from this guy.... he thinks he is the "undisputed authority" on marine engines... but he really doesn't know his a$$ from a warm rock... except the rock smells better........

One thing I forgot to mention,,,,,,,it's ok if you end up with a couple of "extra" nuts and bolts when you get done.
