The really early ones that had electric solenoids moving the shift lever on the transmissions had the delay you are probably aware of, but it wasn't the tranny's fault.

God, am I old! They haven't used that system decades!

Newer style Merc pump has larger keyway, it will adapt to both style input shafts by using the proper key.Smaller keyway pumps were more likely to crack,newer style ones are much better.These newer pumps have been out for a long time now.

Yup you just take off the electric unit and put on the Mechanical ones. Last time that came up Mark at Bam had them available.
