Jim V. did a set of Dart heads for me this winter . He took alot of time first answering questions then answering more questions never made me feel dumb was reasonably priced and was very nice to work with. I even screwed something up that he did for me ,Icalled him and told him what Ihad done He told me to send the manifold back to him ,He fixed up what I f---ed up , didnt make me feel like moron, Ipersonally am very happy with Jim and BJ and HIGHLY recommend them

YES BUT WHAT TIME DOES THE CAMARO DO IN THE WET 1/4 mile. There is a big difference between a car engine and a boat engine.

Ok I give in to you guys with your big ports that flow **** at low rpms and low lift figures. The guy at BHP worked for Batton for years before working with me at Ford and knows his stuff. We build low rpm high torque motors the figures on the camero show it if you cant see that well. The only big drawback to a marine engine is how strong it has to be built compaired to its wheeled counterpart to survive.

Turbo YOU ARE SOOO WRONG you obviously didn't look at JIM's site or you wouldnt make a stupid statement like that. Jim excells in making rec. port heads flow like small port and still outflow the large port heads at higher rpm ALWAYS READ AND DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU TYPE And there are alot more differences between the marine and the auto engines than strength.

I have an easier way why dont you just call Jim yourself and he will tell you the #'s he gets. IN FACT IF YOU JUST LOOK AT HIS WEB SITE YOU WILL SEE AN EXAMPLE OF THE NUMBERS. Lets face it true hp and torque dont lie. How about 638 hp out of a 454 that had unbelievable bottom end - Nat. asp. carb. In order to get the flow you need on the top end you will have to hog out the oval port heads so why not just start with the rec. port heads that have a higher port so that you will have a better entry into the chamber. LOOK AT JIM'S SITE.

My suggestion is you need to figure out what kind of power you want to make then make a decision on what "airflow technician " you want to use.
Just remember flow numbers don't always tell the whole story. Also make sure that the person you use will also pick the right camshaft for you.
If you want to make serious HP (600+) I know who I would use.

My old 502 with oval port Merlins , Brodix intake and 8.5:1 CR made 625hp @ 5800rpm's
My current 540 has the same heads, and intake with
8.9:1 CR and is making 675hp .
The motors will idle at 600-700 rpm's without loading up and are a pleasure to drive.

If you want to make power go with someone that has done R&D work for a major race team, that way you can see how there product works.

Not trying to put your guy down but I have talked to guys claiming high figures aftermarket mfg claiming this and that.
Most of it proved to be BS. The only aftermarket castings that have cosistantly flowed as advertized are Canfield and Brodex. We have gotten competetors heads and flowed them to find they didnt perform as advertized. Some we found to be using adapters that inhanced air flow figures. We just got a set of stage 3 World heads the newest ones factory ported and will be able to post results if any one is interested . Also have results of other factory heads stock and modified. If your interested I will see that you get the info if we have it. SO bring the heads and will check them for you and maybe you will make a believer out of me and get to watch me eat my words too...

Cig39....JimV currently only has his advertisments on his "homepage" at this time. You'll have to find a thread that he has posted on and click on one of his icons near his name that will navigate you to his "home page" and there you will find information on his head porting service. He is however, having a web page professionaly desinged for his head porting business as we speak. If you have questions just give him a call...he's very a very easy guy to speak to.
