Boat is a 2002 model. Motor would be '01 or '02.

Used motor okay, as long as it has good leakdown numbers. I don't really care if it's an exact year match as long as I can swap everything over with a reasonable amount of fuss. 1800runsnew has brand new longblocks for $1900 (pre Vortec 91-96 for $1650).
I'm honestly looking to spend about half of that. Plenty of low mileage donors on Ebay and local classifieds. Might have to jump thru a hoop or two to get the mechanical fuel pump setup figured out, but no biggie..

I wasn't saying it because of the year match issue but because the newer blocks have balance shaft above the cam and the old ones don't I have the blocks that don't have the balance shaft and can put you a short block together fairly inexpensive around $750 balanced and ready to go. One way you can tell them apart if it's not apart now is by the timing cover if it has a regular small block cover it doesn't have a balance shaft and if teh cover looks like the one below it does

I have a brand new Gen 2 lower that has some shipping damage, I was going to put it on ebay, how about $700 as is?

Shipping Damage.....was it sent air freight and got there before the plane did? That didn't happen by the UPS man dropping it on the counter.

I think UPS used it as a wheel chock and drove over it.
