Default Anybody have Coupler Problems?

I hear a lot about people breaking drives (I have too), but this weekend I blew a coupler. The boat was not sitting up all winter, sorry you northern guys. I was just wondering how many of you have had this problem. Thanks for the input.

I caught a bad one (wear) after I bought my boat.
The teeth were sharp instead of square.
Went with the stock replacement. (I am only 260 hp/side)

I've gone through a couple, no pun intended . Could be due to engine/drive alignment, high HP, or maybe bad gimble bearing.

Mine was due to the previous owner NOT EVER charging the grease fittings.

I'll put this in the Technical Q&A section. Alot of folks lurk that section and could offer some assistance.

A Bravo coupler failure? Unheard of!!!!! Just kidding, probably #3 behind blown uppers and loose gimbal rings.
Very common, keep engine aligned and grease it and it will last somewhat longer.

I agree with gary, If you pull the drive once a year check alinment, grease the shaft , change the drive oil your problems will be far and few.
