Because people post miss leading info on here. People post things they will do and then don't stick to there word. I have no tolerance for people that BS and I feel they should be exposed. Talk is cheap if you cant back it up! Are you implying that its OSS teams that are doing all the harassing? You probably shouldn't get in the middle of this if you don't own a race boat and pay the bills for it.

Frankly Bruce the fact that I still owe money on my boat is irrelevent. The structure of my corporation that runs the boat and pays the expenses requires that to maximize my tax benefit I not stroke a big check all at once. Trying to save some money in taxes is honorable and necessary in my book. If owning a boat outright is the litmus test for credibility in this forum I suspect that alot here would be hurting. When have written a check for a super V??? Do you make payments on the boat you are throttling? I suspect I know where you are getting you info..........

Re: SVL Point Pleasant

Hey Brett...all im saying is if your gonna throw stones, expect to get hit back. Personally, I dont think you have the credibility to toss stones at Randy, considering his racing career vs yours. You have your sponsors and so does he. I guarantee that he's footin the bill for more than you need to know. maybe you should just get your boat on the course and show everyone what you got. Talk is cheap. you've had that boat for a while and still haven't been on the course.

I dont plan on writing a check for a super V anytime soon. I cant afford it. And even If i could afford it, I couldnt afford to keep it competitve with all the new technology that makes them faster every year. I do however, Own my race boat and throttle for another team as well.

Maybe you should just lay off Randy and let the people, who are entitled to rip into him do it.

BOO HOO :(

How many offshore races have you raced in? vs. How many boats have you washed? I may only have a 28 foot Pantera. But I can tell you I have over 30 races on it. Some in huge water. It may only be worth a small portion of Bretts Cig. But I have more money into my race boat than you probably make in three years. So, lets not stroke our egos. Theres always gonna be someone who makes (and Spends) more money than the next. But I dont think you or Brett have the right to rip into Randy unless its good clean race smack talk. He may not always be politically correct, and he may piss many of you off. But I think, he earned his credibility on the race course not behind a computer. It doesnt matter if he has a partner in his boat. I can tell you he runs just as hard if not harder than anyone out there and pushes the envelope everytime. Sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn't. But he deserves the respect that he repairs the boat himself, and goes right back out and runs just as hard all over again.

Hes not a one crash and your out kinda guy. And I respect him for that.

All you guys are , is talk on the computer. Randy backs himself up on the water. Thats the way it should be.

If you cant back it up...SHUT UP!!!!!

What is this the "I am badder than you because I have raced more"?? You guys are a joke. Let me inject some reality here Bruce..... How many races you have won makes absolutely no difference in debating most issues relative to the sport. Maybe in setup and course issues or rule infractions but Randy rarely discusses that. I hardly think that MD needs your protection. We have debated, *****ed, fought, and apologized many times. I have criticized Randy, and I have expressed concern when he got hurt. I have never made a personal attack on him. You have disclosed personal information about my arrangement with Dave, (not Val) in an effort to belittle me and that is bull$hit. I have also said that I have been reluctant to get back on the course for a number of reason, which to you means that I am scared. Well, I have a 4 year old and a wife that is expecting a second child in September. It makes her physically ill when I talk about racing because she knows the risks and I am the sole breadwinner in my family..... this is the same reason Dave isnt racing. Does that make him a ***** too? I assure you that making sure that I dont get hurt or killed is much more important to the people in my life than getting a $15 dollar trophy and the approval from you to debate Randy in this forum.

Re: SVL Point Pleasant

Both Shane and Randy were told about the race prior to the letter being handed out during the same day (Sat - 4/30). Shane was in Marathon and OSS in Pickwick.

Now, did they read it????? That's a whole other question. I know the OSS teams read it very carefully and voted to attend.

BRUCE SEROFF 07-11-2005 11:57 AM

Re: SVL Point Pleasant

Brett...perfectly understandable and respectable reasons.

In that case, maybe you should just state the facts and stop bull$hitting everyone that you'll be racing anytime soon.(in a supercat no less) I have not disclosed any financial arrangements you have with anyone, you just did. I merely stated that your boat is not paid for, so you you shouldnt be ripping into Randy. He's invested quite a bit of ching in the past five years. If you say you nevermade a personal attack on Randy, what were you inferring with your recent post toward him?

Your concern for him after the accident is admirable. With all the BS and attacks that go on here, the last any of us wat to see, is for someone to get injured doing what they enjoy. Even if safety precautions were not adhered to.

I know he doesnt need my protection, hes a big boy. Hes also my friend and I know him better than you and my other friend Mark Mattews do. And I can tell you hes not as bad as he may appear on here.

If we all just stuck to good old fashion smack talk, it would be a much better place. But , no matter how hard we try. We continue to derail threads in this forum with personal attacks. (me included)

So, until it stops with everyone there will always be someone else defending their ground.

In closing :D i appeal to the all mighty moderators to require anyone who posts in this forum, to disclose their real names. Its only fair to know who we are ripping into or that is ripping into us.

thanks and have a great day :drink:

True that...its over and done. Shane isnt coming and Cory probably will not either. So lets move on.

with that said, how many of you southern boys will make the trip up here? Its time to show some loyalty toward your northern racing buddies, whom have already made 4 trips down south, and I believe will be in Dania beach next week.

We may post under other screen names not to decieve, and we identify ourselves in signing off. Theres only 3 people that post on Randys computer. Me, Willy or Randy. Im sure you can tell who is who by now. Regardless, Willy signs Wil, Randy always signs MD and I generally identify my self

Dont try to twist this around Mark. there are some people, IMO that are doing nothing more than stirring the pot, while remaining anonymous. Thats BS.

Shane .....its been pretty quiet round here in the last couple hours.

I just wanted to say...you covered your tracks rather well by deleting most of your posts in this thread. However, Ron P did state the course milage in his post #46, dated May 10th which was before the first Marathon race. And you also posted that same day, of which you also deleted. So, even if you never got the letter in Marathon, the milage was posted on the board the week prior. And I find it hard to believe that you didnt read it.

Now, I know there is no changing your mind on this matter, but you could have left your posts up.

The track record shows they only averaged 30.13 miles per race over the last 6 events. All but one race, they may have only had 1 other boat to race against. (Not much of a chance of getting blocked)
What will they do if several other SVLs show up for Key West and SBI is forced to run a Storm Course?
Will they leave it on the trailer?

Enough already!

They aren't coming for obvious reasons and we now have a boat willing to make the trip all the way across the country for a shot at a win in P-5 . They don't seem to be worried about any blocking... They are real serious and confident racers in my book!

It was once said that a lot has to do with set-up. The one that makes it to the 1st turn 1st wins. If so, then set your boat up for excelleration! I don't think you need to hear that from me but oh well...

At least two of the races this year have been shortened because they ran Saturday and Sunday.

I say this because, SBI/APBA will be coming off the NC race on Sunday and then have to trek back to their homes and back up to NJ within 4 days and then back down to Ft. Walton Beach the following week. That's 3 weeks straight of racing. How many of you can actually do that? Even if you dont bust up your boats, thats a hell of a lot of time traveling.

As far as Key West, Typhoon had some water issues. If I remember right, they couldn't dump the ballast tank. So yeah I guess he ran pretty good against a boat full of water.... ;) :drink:
