SVL Point Pleasant

In an effort to stop the battling among the svl teams, I have made a few calls and here is the deal. Randy has been calling out Shane. Obviosly Shane is comfortable racing right where he is. And Randy is comfortable right where he is. So here is the deal. Shane has agreed to come to Point Pleasant. Neutral grounds. Randy and Willie have shown interest. How about the rest. OPA will put up 5000.00 to the winner of the SVL shootout. This Thread is not for bashing each other. First sign of bashing and the 5000.00 goes to the P class. This is an effort by OPA to settle the nonsense that goes on here. Man Up or Man Out. Smitty

Last time Shane raced in Point Pleasant, he ended up going for a swim.

Hey Randy, if you loose, will you wash Shane's boat, like a good looser?

Wow, what a great opportunity to put up or shut up! This should make for a great race in a race. Are they still running the race on a weekday? Or is it a weekend race now? I might just have to visit my family that week. Good luck, and may the best team win. No matter who that ends up being. Great idea Smitty.

This is like reality TV. My blood is pumping just envisioning the start of the race. Cool idea Smitty. I hope other teams join in and chase for the purse. Thanks for keeping racing fun.

A little talking (on the telephone, not on a public forum), some common sense and ANYTHING can get done without the fighting and name calling. Good job Smitty. So, who's in besides Shane?

Leave it to one of the Jersey Boyz to come up with a way to put a lid on the situation. High 5 Smitty.

Re: SVL Point Pleasant

Im gonna go out on a limb here. Im not starting trouble, slamming, being negative, Or speaking on Randys behalf. Just the facts.

If Shane is serious about comin up here for this race, I give him alot of credit. Personally, If I was running the national circuit and lived 1000s of miles away from Jersey, I would think about the logistics of actually making this event.

I say this because, SBI/APBA will be coming off the NC race on Sunday and then have to trek back to their homes and back up to NJ within 4 days and then back down to Ft. Walton Beach the following week. That's 3 weeks straight of racing. How many of you can actually do that? Even if you dont bust up your boats, thats a hell of a lot of time traveling.

For those of you that can pull that off, You have my utmost respect. If you can do it, Randy can. Thats proffessionalism. (sp)

Im sure Randy is considering the offer, however, I doubt anyone else will be able to make it. They have Orange Beach the following week, and knowing how the waters can be in PP, they dont want to risk breaking anything before OB. (no slamming please)

It would be extremely xciting to watch this showdown and I'll bet we can get some side action goin on this event.

So, let Randy think about it. I'm sure Smitty will hear from him soon. The more you bust his balls, the less he will consider the challenge. If, by chance he turns it down, respect his decision and we'll try another time.

keep it civil and dont dump on me too hard.

Good points Bruce, it just goes to show Shane is'nt ducking anyone and will go to great lengths to prove it

I am sure we are going to have a informal svl discussion on this next weekend mark randy is probably waiting for that ( instead of poping off) we do have a race the next weekend so there are things to consider

BRUCE SEROFF 05-08-2005 10:04 PM

Re: SVL Point Pleasant

hey Mark...hows everything ? nice to hear from ya. :D

I know, I started this Challenge or maybe just continued it. Who knows?

Anyway, Randy will chime in when he's ready. But he'll probably just contact Smitty directly, by phone. It's easier that way.

If it doesn't happen in PP, maybe NY or even Cambridge (more logical). It would be nice if they could get some kind of one race deal with SBI.

Have a great night :drink:

Bruce, I only mentioned Pt because of the challenging coarse. We can run a short coarse as to save the Equip. They can pick any site they want. The entire motive of this challenge was just to get these guys together, and end all the BS. I know Shane, as I do all the rest. Great guys, In any other environment, they would get along fine. Smitty

Im thinkin ...Cambridge will be the best place. its at least two weeks in between either assoc's. schedules, and maybe we can get the entire SVL fleet to this one. The show for the spectators will be awesome as well.
What dya think? :eureka:

Randy is taking some time off from OSO,BUT I AM NOT.Randy will be in Pt.Pleasant for the challenge.I would expect with the interest in this race that MM,Phantom1,Fast daddy and any other fan of this grudge match would be present. If you want to talk smack, you have to be willing to back it up.I understand that the winner will take home 5000.00 and the looser gets nothing, zero,Nada.Does anybody disagree?

Wil

AugiePensa 05-10-2005 04:54 PM

Re: SVL Point Pleasant

Guy's, understand...5000.00 is for min. 5 boats in the SVL class. Willie, you are correct, no 2nd., 3rd. place money, straight out 5000.00 to the winner.

Ron P 05-10-2005 05:13 PM

Re: SVL Point Pleasant

Augie, what's the prize if only two boats show up?

Your right Willie, time to back up the big talk.

What are the fees for the race?
