Holy sh*t that was violent - you guys are extremely lucky the drives didn't come thru the cockpit

The boat to the right, was it already airborn? came in like a missile.

perhaps we should wait until all of the videos are out before we pass judgement on any of us. Charlie Bass in angel 1 had the best view of anyone and his official statement was that of pier 57 and lightning strikes not having caused the accident. this incident was very unfortunate for all involved and we are all lucky to be here. there will be video from pier 57 soon to follow and remember that this was a heated race where any number of things could have led up to the accident not all of which are apparent in this video. lets keep this friendly and not turn this into a whose fault was it.

I agree Scrapman, sh!t happens in racing. Blame doesn't need to be placed. Just an understand so it could possibly be avoided in the future.

I think that the video says alot.... JBS is under control and calm, then they get washed down by 57 like they (57) are off course and it appears that they correct back on course right into Joey (collision) causing him to slide into Lightening's path and damn near get killed. That was a close call boys. Time to get a new boat!!!!!

That is a good question.... that boat was way out of the water before the hit.

Glad that everyone is OK like I stated previously. I hope that manufactures will look at this and find better ways to make areas of canopies stronger. I am just glad LS went across farther forward then then the actual canopies. I just hope that this does not break the JBS Team from coming back out again but with two incidents in two races it is completely understandable.

Ok Guys. I Keep Seeing Reponses Hinting Towards My Boat Being Out Of Control, Off Course, Making Mistakes, Etc. The Facts Are That Jbs, Pier 57, And Lightning Strikes Were In A Heated Battle For Quite Some Time. My Boat (57 In Case You Havent Figured It Out) Was In The Middle Position With Jbs At My Far Left And L.s. At My Right. L.s. And I Took The Inside Route To The Pin And Jbs Took The Outside Route. Two Different Approaches To The Same Turn. We Went Hard To The Pin And As For Washing Them Down That Was Neither Intentional Or Illegal. What May Not Be Apparent In The Video Clip Is The Fact That The Second Turn Buoy Was Offset Back To The North Which Required A Pretty Hard Turn To Go To The Pin. We Didnt See Jbs Untul They Were On Top Of Us And The Bottom Of Their Boat Was Outside My Window. I Know From The Angle That Jbs Was At There Was No Way For Jeff To See Us And Joe Didnt See Us Until The Last Second As Heard On Audio. Even After The Race Joe And Jeff Both Told Me On The Dock That They Had No Idea What Exactly Happened And Neither Did We. As For The Comment Earlier About Why Would Someone Be Allowed To Race With Us While Driving Out Of Control I Doubt There Is A Racer Out There That Can Say That He / She Has Never Been Out Of Control A Time Or Two. As For Joe, Jeff, Mike And Bob They Are All Professionals Who Do This Sport Good. Anyone From The Jbs Camp Want To Back Me Up Or Would You Prefer To Sit Back And Let The Rumor Mill Villify Us.
