Bruce,

Whoopy Doo is right it was never a big deal, it was just a statement posted on SBI's site. Do u really think it would of made a differance if you knew sooner??? You know Billy will not let his boat race KW with SBI right now,but that might change in the near futhure. From what I hear you have gotten a taste of that already. I don't think this will change things much, the 4-6 teams from OSS that are racing in KW have their reasons (SPONSORS , TV, ECT.) and made sure they were qualified .
It wasn't posted but you do know that any boats what won its class at KW last year also qalifiy for this year Worlds... No suprise there I hope.

OSS has their Worlds in SP and I think that is great, and I wish you guys all the best. I haven't posted one bad word toward OSS... about all the changes in schedule, cancelling races, adding classes, lack of races, and rule changes because it's what's best for OSS not SBI and that doesnt concern me. But everyone is so concerned about what SBI is doing and they aren't even SBI teams or memebers Hummmmmmmm. With 4 weeks to go I would think you would put your energy toward getting a CG permit for SP.

Bruce where ever you race you will have a blast and do well, and that the way it should be. I'm not sure why where has to be a line in the sand every team should race where they want and have fun doing it.

Good luck this weekend and in the World be safe and kick some ass. You still owe me a drink

You're right Gino, I was a little bitter because of all the hooptie surrounding the whole KW deal, I need to work at being more positive. But I think you will agree that as long as there are two competing national groups we will not move forward as far as we can. Now, there could be 2 cooperating groups and that might be okie dokie, but the way the players are lined up right now, I don't see that happening. And frankly if it get's down to it, it may be better for the sport to NOT let racer's choose where they race. The sport, the fans, the sponsors, and the racers would benefit in the long run if all the Super V's, etc. were forced to run with one group or not run-wouldn't you prefer to run with 8-9 opponents in your class? Wouldn't your sponsors and your fans rather see you win over 8-9 boats than take 1st out of 2? There are a lot of racers that are enjoying the fact that there are a bunch of different races so they can only go to the ones closest to them and then win against 1-2 (or no) other boats. There are also guys like you that are traveling all over to meet sponsor requirements, etc. If the sport is going to become more professional and have more money available for the racers from sponsors there will have to be less races with larger boat counts and people willing to trailer more than a few hours. Whether this happens because the groups begin to work together, or because one fails, it has to happen if this is ever going to be more than a self-funded hobby.

Nothing has changed, the rules stand and still say that ALL boat must race 2 SBI races to qualify for the 2005 Worlds in KW !!!

Also remember that the winners from the Worlds last year qualify to run the 2005 Worlds.
Common knowledge!

Just race & be loyal to whom ever you want !

Insptech,

I agree with you, something has to change for us to all race together....but there seems to be teams that will only race either OSS or SBI/APBA
I hope for 2006 if we all can't get together that we at least take the 1st step and not have all 3 Organizations schedule there races on the same weekends so some of us can just go out and race and support all 3 Organizations and just have fun...

As I read all this, the posts that strike me as the most professional, and the most appropriate, are from Ken Doyle.
I just might be possible that, although late in the season, some of the OSS teams wanted to race Key West and challenged the "2 race rule" in its exact meaning. Maybe they asked about the specific races counted, (such as 2004 Key West) rather than just "how many do we have to run?" Looks to me like they got their answer, now a few are upset because the "specific" question wasn't asked earlier in the season.
Regardless of timing, both sides have made their place. Now ALL teams that qualify have a decision. My advice would be to go back and read Ken Doyles post.
As for me, I wish the best of luck and SAFE RACING to everyone.
