revised qualification for 2005 K.W. worlds
#31
I'm sorry, I had heard 21, I stand corrected. I had not seen the results posted when I checked the other day. I am not nervous at all about the SP boat count-I will be in KW. I am somewhat miffed that this "rules clarification" popped up now and not in March, or June, or even August. But now it is October and the OSS has committed to SP and it is very unlikely that they will be able to come to KW, nor would it be very fair of them to bag SP at this late a date. My suspicion is that this "rule clarification" was made in order to show that SBI has done "everything possible" to get as many boats as they can to KW, a little CYA if the count is low. After all, new member "Conch Republic" was just reading this thread an hour ago

And it is 29-from the website, but you're closer.

[QUOTE=Xtremeracing]Ted,
It has nothing to do with the Nationals and please post the correct info. 31 boats in Deerfield ...check the results all the boats are posted.

29 is the number 27 raced.

Help me out here-
OSS announces "relaxed qualifications for 2005 World Championships" on August 10, 2005.
Rules Here
And OPA announces that there will be no entry fees for races in 2006, but plenty of prize $$.
Now SBI/APBA announces that the teams that raced in KW in 2004 are qualified to race this year and everyone goes nuts.
All of these announcements are of great benefit to all race teams................but those that aren't racing seem to be the ones whining. This is what most of you have said the sport needs - for the racers to have more control.
What more do you want than for the racers to have the opportunity to race whatever so-called "WORLDS" they want with little commitment this year, and to be able to race OPA without paying entry fees?
All racing organizations are fighting for entry fees, exposure and fans. May the organization that sucks the least.....win.

Sbi should have posted this a long time ago, and they would have there boat count that they need to get paid,
Frank u were the one and many others that love sbi so much that were pushing the issue that the oss teams need two starts,
Hey i would be in key west if i didnt have to go to new york or north carolina.
Were was this info in the begining, no were to be found, all it said was u needed two starts.
So now your going to start beging for your boat count a month before the worlds.
And i heard that OSS has the go ahead for st pete from the coast guard.

This only effects teams that raced the Worlds in KW last year and started all 3 races. There are still alot of new teams that didn't race KW last year , and they still need 2 race during the season to race this year myself included.
Chris,
The info. was in the rule book and nothing has changed !!

Aguie....I agree....race were you want.....I don't see this as a invite to OSS....they already said they are doing St. Pete and I wish them all the best of luck and safe racing.....
This was intended to teams that want to race K.W. I know of 3 teams that could not do the 2 races this year but still want to run K.W. becuase they got there boats ready....
K.D. thanks for responding to Ron....
Ron....once again...your negitivity is amazing.....
Where were you when OSS changed some of there rules this year....remember....1st you had to run 2 OSS races to qual for the Worlds...then you only needed to race in any Organizations 2 races...then I beleive the PX guys only have to do 1 race to qual....then you got a 1 race repreave so you didn't have to pay equip. fees....
Where were all your questions then....they did that to get more boats....and they did that to get more boats for the Worlds....THIS VOTE CAME FROM THE OSS RACERS..... So why no questions then....but now SBI/APBA is doing something to get some guys that raced last years World to be able to race this year and there you go again.....
Why not answer some of OSS changes on OSO before you start pointing fingures at other Organizations....when you question SBI/APBA on rule changes you are also making OSS racers look like they also will do anything also....SO THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS BOTH ORGANIZATIONS ARE WORKING TO DO THINGS TO GET MORE BOATS OUT...WHICH IS GREAT FOR THE SPORT....YOUR THE ONLY ONE WHO KEEPS SPITTING AND IT KEEPS COMING BACK INTO THE OSS RACERS FACES......
THE OSS RACERS ARE NOT ON HEAR ASKING QUESTIONS...THEY ARE FOCUS ON RACING AND HAVING FUN AND SO ARE THE SBI/APBA RACERS....IT'S YOU THAT SEEMS TO HAVE ALL THE PROBLEMS....
PS I think its great that both Organizations are relaxing there rules a little to get more boats out there....that is the altimate goal we all want....
I THOUGHT THIS SECTION WAS FOR RACERS....NOT CHEERLEADERS....BECAUSE YOU WILL SEE THE RACERS ARE GETTING ALONG AND SHOWING RESPECT TO EACH OTHER EVEN IF THEY ARE RACING IN DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS....AND WE CAME A LONG WAY FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR TILL NOW....AND THAT'S THE WAY IT SHOULD BE....
IF THE RACERS ARE RESPECTING THE OTHER ORGANIZATIONS...WHY IS IT THE NON-RACERS CAN'T....WHO REALLY ARE THE PROBLEM CHILDREN HERE....RACERS OR NON-RACERS...
I hope both Organizations keep working on getting more boats out there...and the teams are cross racing....This weekends race in C.C. with Instigator coming over and I know there were a few other teams that wanted to go is a great way to show its about racing and great compitition....and a little bit of bragging rights.....funny thats what we all can agree on....

With all due respect Gino, there are a few races that wouldn't occur without us cheerleaders
. I jumped in on this one because a racer was making all of the OSS people and a lot of the rest of us out to be some kind of dolts since we didn't figure out that KW last year counts for this year
As a promoter and "cheerleader" I know what happened and why it happened, and now I am just a little upset that this "rule clarification" came up at the last minute. I am very excited that all the groups are trying to increase boat count and I see great things coming, the heat is on, let's see which group shines, and which burns

Insptect,
No one said anything about not appreciating what you and others do to put on races....
This was a post to let racers know they can still race without making 2 races this year....
IT IS INFORMATION FOR THE RACERS....NOT FOR NON RACERS TO START COMPLANING ABOUT THINGS AGAIN.....IF YOU ARE UNPSET BECAUSE THE WAY THINGS ENDED UP CALL THE ORGANIZATIONS AND VOICE YOUR OPINION...
AND PART OF THE PROBLEM IS WITH YOUR ENDING COMMENT..."WILL SEE WHO SHINES AND WHO BURNS"....
WHY IS IT SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HOPING OTHERS FAIL....
HOW ABOUT LET THE RACERS DECIDE WERE THEY WILL RACE AND LET THE CHIPS FALL WERE THEY DO.....
I think what you guys did in Camdon and other racers this year have been great....but if the racers are ok with some of the rules changes on both sides....why all the questions...
The racers are having fun this year....isn't that what its about....
