not a big deal for a race boat..most race boats are hammered on when comparing to a pleasure boat.

"salt stains on upholstery"...lol....where do you think a racer is going to take a piss on a delayed start while still milling!

I was only referring to it as a source of water entry into the boat, not because the stains, lol..

I was hinting at where the water is absorbing

Most race boats do not have water absorbtion problems because they are not left in the water, plus they are normally built to a higher standard than a pleasure boat. All hatches leak no big deal. Canopy glass is $5k and up. Peeling paint, put a sticker over it. Upholstery, Just add fuzzy dice

Dont worry about the looks, worry about the fuel tanks, drives and engines. Everything only slows you down!

1.) taped up hatch
2.) lexan in bad shape
3.) peeling paint
4.) gasket around hatch (water intrusion and lack of maintenance)
5.)salt stains on upholstery
The hatch may just leak in a rain shower, those are not 100% water proof.

Is the windshield cracked?

Paint? No Problem....

Salt stains? Maybe just lack of cleaning.

I think I seen a picture of a Canopied 35 Fountain in a old issue F-?? I'll scan the picture tonight when I get home and post it, it may very well be the same boat.

If it's scuffed and yellowed it can be saved, unless it’s really; really bad. I spoke with a Air Force Mechanic from Selfridge Air National Guard Base right next to were I keep the boat and he hooked me up with a compound and polish for my F16 canopy, I have not tried it yet but he said it’s Uncle Sam’s best and should do the trick!
