As far as our position, we currently race class 6 with OPA. I would have to see a lot more detail regarding specifications, rules, enforcement, organization, schedule, prize money etc...before I would even consider a switch in class as we have a considerable investment in our current set up. Unfortunately, someone has to put in all the legwork as far as putting the deal together, before anyone is going to commit. Everyone is going to say it is a great idea, but that doesn't mean they are going to compete.

And I'm not willing to put all the legwork in, go find money to first pay you, hire tech people enforce rules, hurt feelings, listen to why somebody can't win because they're not willing to set-up there boat, and so forth for a few boats I need a little more commitment than that......if I had a dollar for every time I was told that we'll race and they didn't I would be on an island being pampered in every way and not spending my time trying to revive a sport I just happen to love......So we have to come to some type of compromise!!!!

BTW just to make my position clear nobody is saying you have to race my class I'm just looking for people who WILL. As I've stated it's somewhat of a Catch 22 I need a count before I can offer anything to you and you need an offer before I can get a count.....

I hear you. I wasn't trying to be difficult, but as you said, saying you will race and actually doing it is a big difference. I for one would like to see the class revived, whether we are involved, or not. Getting the commitment from people is the tough part...

With commitments comes $$$$$ that's all I can tip my hand to at this point like I said it's a bit of a Catch 22 but I'm sure we can find common ground...

It sounds like you're trying to start a new org. You would most likely need to come up with a whole lot more info to get racer commitment. Will it be a profit or not for profit? Have you sealed down some gravesite with some sort of pending commitment. Starting a business like this will take a whole lot of legwork on your part and you need to be willing to put in the legwork before anyone budges. Your efforts could probably be used better by joining forces with an org that already has everything in place and head up the classes you plan to introduce. If you have a handle on racesites they could be added to a current org and maybe have a 15 race season. I personally don't see that having a new org will benefit you or the racers.

You state that you'll have the best tech. SBI, OPA, OSS and OPGP claimed or claim to have tech and all the racers still have complaints regarding tech. I think if you have figured out a failsafe way of teching you should join forces. Prove it at the existing sites and the racers will follow you. I could build a new F1 open factory boat in a month. I can't commit though because I have no idea, what I'd be committing to. Join forces! Strength in numbers.

You're always going to have complaints regarding tech, rules, water conditions, what color the sky is, and why didn't we get any lollipops when we registered. Come on gentlemen I'm not going to start a new org. I'm not retarded just stupid, HOWEVER I'm trying to revive some spec class racing.
