Orange Beach, Alabama 6/06/03 - "Thunder on the Gulf Coast"

Attention race fans! Orange Beach, Alabama is pleased to announce the first Annual Super Boat Grand Prix of the Gulf Coast will be held the weekend of August 21st thru August 24th. This will be the first Offshore Powerboat race in Alabama. The Super Boat Grand Prix will have over 40 boats involved in this exciting event. The spectators will be able to watch the biggest, fastest, and largest powerboats in the world! These boats, with a maximum length of 50 feet, equipped with up to 4 engines that will produce more than 4,800 HP, and can run up to speeds of 170 mph. Boats scheduled to race will include Nick Carter’s El Diablo- (Nick Carter -the International singing star of the famous "Backstreet Boys"), Pier 57, Bacardi Silver, Instigator, Firewater, Shockwave, Muscle, The Switch, and lets not forget Snack Attack!

John Carbonell, a veteran racer and promoter, founder of Super Boat International says, " I am impressed with the beauty of the area and looking forward to a long relationship with the Gulf Coast Powerboat Association".

Gary Nichols, co-owner of Live Bait in Orange Beach Alabama, a long time race enthusiast, is the driving force behind the Super Boat Grand Prix being held in Orange Beach Alabama. "I am pleased to be involved in bringing this exciting sport to the shores of Orange Beach and the Gulf Coast."

Local business leaders and volunteers are working hard to finalize plans for the event. All residents and visitors in the area can view the race from the white sands and condos of Orange Beach. Sponsorship packages are available by calling 251-747-5084.

I thought that APBA was going to add Orange beach to one of it's
sights?

May be so But then agian May be NOT. But I can say,that I DOUBT ANY of those boats will be DQ,ed for someone,s hidden agenda....

I've never been DQ'ed either . I only win.
2002 SBI Northeast Divisional Cahmpion for F1.

Nice to hear from you again too. I know you are intelligent enough to realize the rules are seldom enforced in SBI........I could be wrong

OH Boyz, Just spoke to Jeff from Freeze Frame, Says "The best footage I have filmed in years." And I have the very first copy, Be at the shop tomorrow, and bring your vidios from in the boats. Dont forget the popcorn. Then we can go nextdoor for Skaterfest, as well.
