Re: Key West SS outboards
Why no herring props, anyone other than ballough running them
|
Re: Key West SS outboards
There is only 1 set and HULK had them. A six thousand dollar set of props really ruins the class for smaller teams in the class, so we took that out of the equation.

Re: Key West SS outboards
How much better were they

Re: Key West SS outboards
Ummm.......they were reall good from what I'm told. They "HOOK UP" really well in corner and accelerate like mad. I was told they make the boat more friendly, not really faster. There were atleast 2 other teams trying to get a set before the baaned deadline came along to use for a couple of races and the never got them. Herring isn't reall gonna drop what he's doing to build a 6K set of props when he can build all the 12k props he wants. He's a busy guy and really knows his stuff. Loef when you won all your races who did your props? Do you have any intrest in racing again? Are you still in Charlotte Nc?

Ryan,
Do you think the older canopied 28 Skater's could be competitive with the AMT's, Doug Wright's, Spectre's and DeepVCats of today??? Just curios I guess. |

Re: Key West SS outboards
Where are the super stocks racing this year. With the NEW SBI or is everyboby going after the mercury money with OSS?
|
Re: Key West SS outboards
For Marc and I we are going SBI. New boat green racers for 05'.
Hope to get the boat wet before Miami. Dan |
Re: Key West SS outboards
SBI is responsible for the success of Super Stock. They have consistently treated us as a premier class and have always let the participants make the rules. Every team I have contact with is racing the SBI schedule as their primary circuit. A few have said they might attend an OSS event if it is close to their home. SQ

Re: Key West SS outboards
Is there really any other venue to race other that WPR? Lets face it, there is really not a perfect race organization or perfect job, bottom line is, "you dance with the one who brung ya" and now that we are one we need to continue to support the sport of offshore by sticking together. If the stock class splits up who wins? I guarantee its not those of us who spend hours on the road, time away from our families and countless dollars to participate in something we love. It is the those who are trying to recruit us away from something that almost died if not for 4 or 5 teams. We are much stronger as a group than two groups of 5 to 7.
