Boat Count

Yup, OPA also. Our races don't count.
This rule is nothing new, it's always been in the books. I believe it's now being enforced because of the renewed enthusiasm for the UIM.
In the past if you didn't have the two starts, you could still race, just not for the World Title. Is that still the plan?

It's a shame.... It should be displayed proudly that certain racers choose to support all or any organizations that they race with....

DRY SUMP,
Please do not take shots at my buddy STARKEY, especially about SOB. That project was something very close to our hearts that should have worked with the amount of time we put in it but it did not so whatever. Just another jagged chapter in Offshore Powerboat Racing once again. Kind of like the whole unification deal everyone is talking about. Simple solution to everyone's problem is very, very, very simple. SHUT UP AND RACE!!!!!!!!!!!
DPT
ps. DRY SUMP, what is your real name???? Please do not be childish and hide behind a screen name. THANK YOU!!!

I wasn't aware that OPA was a sanctioning body I was always under the impression they were a club like GLSCS and OSS

"Competitors should not display on their boat, uniforms or transporter the logo of any non-SBIP/APBA offshore racing sanctioning body or any other such sanctioning body."
Seems pretty clear to me that the rule is telling the racer NOT TO DISPLAY....
And yes, I was trying to bring back the Outboard Class to Offshore and reached out to all the associations in hopes to improve the boat count at all the races as well as provide a truely affordable Entry Level class. Most associations agreed to put on the Class only to have many broken promises from wanna-be racers. DPT & I did all we could. All the racers had to do was to show up and race. OPA still offers the class for 2005. Bring 5 and you can drive...so to speak! They will put the class on if they have 5 boats. Thank you OPA!

So what's your POINT Sump?
BTW, if OPA, OSS, or any other association is approving, authorizing, consenting, supporting, and giving permission to race on a race course under their control, under their rules, and insurance, then yes.......THEY ARE A SANCTIONING BODY!
DPT, thanks for watching my back!
And what Carbone said! Without OPA boats coming to not only NY, but many supported the SBI races throughout the Southeast.
Rules are rules though. And this year you say it will be enforced? Time will tell on that ...
They may want to reconsider that one. I can't see all these guys going thru the trouble of removing decals every other race and ordering additional uniforms.

if your such a fan of the sport, you should be posting *** the the sucsesses of the SBI/APBA/UIM merger and the bigger better things it will offer. how millions of fans will line up south beach to watch etc.
Last but not least who cares if OSS doesnt make it, with your percieved knowledge that they wont you should be elated, knowing some of thier racers may end up back at your sactioning body, then again they move just move on.
