Do you know there is a company up your way that will sell you a set of Merc seals for around $500 no questions asked actually there are currently 5 company's selling the same seals you have on your motor

Knowing that and understanding that unfortunately there may be racers that want to "tinker", both Mercury and Innovation(does CRE still exist?) give the OSS a list of the seal numbers they have allocated to which engines by serial number. Best we can do for now.

First, CRE is no more(for over a year now) and that comes directly from Dave Stiff(@Innovation) to me.
Secondly, I hope I read your statement correctly that Innovation also provides the list of seal numbers to you(OSS) and since they offer a unique one of a kind seal and the fact that you need 2 SBI/APBA races to qualify for KW(which is listed on your schedule) wouldnt it make sense to only allow Innovation seals for your engine program? I am sure this would make it a lot simpler in the long run for your inspectors and easier for the OSS racers to comply with the qualification guidlines for the World Championship. I just figure if you can get your hands on the Merc seals off of E-Bay and other vendors so easily, I am sure you can stamp the same seal number back on to it.
Thank you in advance for any enlightenment you can add to this, Mr Whittier!

While it is true that CRE has no affiliation with SBI or APBA and no longer has any business agreements with Innovation, CRE was a legal entity of it's own, Dave Stiff nor Innovation has a say or has ever had any say as to it's existance or it's operation.

I try to stat out of most of this bs , but I don't get the obsession with seals, while it certainly is important the the engines are sealed , and a good visual check if the tech guys suspect tampering than they can look farther, however it is naive to think that if someone wanted to they couldn't duplicate anyones seals , anything can be duplicated ( I don't really understand way one would want to do this.. if you cheated to win if would be a hollow victory how would you even take credit for the win, hey I want to kick everyones ass fair and square as we all do ) we ran a innovation vortec last year and I looked at the seals they didn't look like it would be hard to dup , now we have a merc and guess what you could make those also .doesn't anyone remember the guys that took the head off an engine left the intake bolted on ( so as to not break the seal) and ported the heads and port matched the intake from the combustion chamber side ( a pain for sure) and than got caught ( makes you look like a idiot) the moral is if there is a will there is a way and there is no perfect system to stop it

Trent,
Is SBI/APBA/UIM going to enforce the UIM rule that a racer/team can be suspended if he or she participates in a non UIM or a non National UIM Recognized Organization's sanctioned event?

Well said Augie....
Personally, I don't think the logo rule will be enforced....
If it is, I sure wonder who would approach you and ask you to remove your OPA and Jersey Boyz logos from your boat and tow vehicle in order for you to be allowed to enter the race....?
No worries, it'll never happen....
Good luck in Miami. Be safe!
It's all about having a good time, and you know how to do that!

That would be a question for John, Bob,or the Board of directors of SBI/APBA; I dont know the answer to that.
Once again, let me emphasize that I am not SBI/APBA, I do not speak on behalf of them, I speak as a racer that is fed up with the BS. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I decided about a month ago to take this year off( I am still a paid member), but I already have things in line for either the end of this year or for the full 06 season. So I guess that gives you the excuse to call me a fan for the moment and that my comments are worthless, but all I have stated on here are FACTS. You cant argue facts.
