How so Phantom1??? I am not doudting your statement, I just can not figure out how. Offshore racing classes here has no compliance with many of the UIM classes over seas. I like the fact that SBI and those involved have worked out something with the UIM but what is it going to bring to the table or change for that matter our sport here??????? Never understood the impact of having UIM here if we can not make the sport work as a whole here in the USA. Can someone give a clear answer to this PLEASE!!!!
Thank You,

Here's what I've learned so far.
Apperently the old APBA LLC pushed UIM to the side while trying to build its own brand name. Hence no mention of APBA on the UIM web site.
Bob Bull has now taken a seat on the UIM board to try and make the classes on both sides of the pond similar to promote cross racing and a true World Championship.
I'll agree with Phantom, we might see some european boats at this years worlds.
If OSS would contract with SBI to make two of thier races SBI/APBA/UIM divisional races, that would solve the whole problem. Cost would be under 10K for the whole deal, if people want to work together....... Randy, does that solve your problem?

DHAW, you are missing the piont.........there are two organizations and that is not going to change so why is a world's on sbi's rules the only true world's (call it what ever you want it is mainly US boats, the UIM is bs hype, apba offshore was not even recognized by uim for the last several years, last year was the first in awhile), we all will be racing in just another national event if we don't bring all boats together for a true world's........if that is not possible than we will have two world champions....once again...is that what anybody really wants? Reguardless of all this preseason bantering most boats will run with which organization they want. That leaves the racers to demand a world championship, not a cake party for either organization. Like Shane pointed out it would be hard to add additional races...and that won't happen anyway due to obvious political reasons and a waste of money, or we would not be having this exchange of pleasantries.

Ron P, good point has this been formally presented to anyone? What about registration for the next year or current year.........do we have to register with sbi also? Glad to see you are making an effort.

Besides the history of a "World Championship" being held in Key West, The class one boats dont come over here and they have budgets in the millions,
And as a fan I would be certainly pissed to spend my money on hotel, etc
to view a world championship with NO Supercats, Sorry but that is the main event like it or not, SBI lists 3 will they race this season.
The Banter that goes on here is heresay at best, which including myself am responsible for, when a sactioning body has something to say they use a press release, they certainly arent going to argue here on the forum like we *** tend to do. There are many members for OSS Board of directors on OSO, they do not condemn or critisize SBI/APBA in public, it is what it is. Yet many members of this forum constaintly critisizes OSS, and thier efforts to promote offshore racing via NON-PROFIT, why is this???
In my opinion I would love a unified championship, but i dont care if its in KW. Maybe with UIM help
we can *** go to Dubai for a world championship.

Seems like a simple enough answer to put all this to bed.

Randy....man you have changed....what happend to race were your happy and go have fun.....you want a true Worlds...do 2 races in SBI/ APBA or Get with your OSS members and hold a OSS World Championship and invite everyone racing SBI/APBA on differnet dates then SBI/APBA Worlds and if the other teams want to show then great....You ran 5 National races last year...you used to run 12 to 15 races in F1....if you can't afford racing two more races and one being in New York and one in Elizabeth City which is 6 hours or so I don't get it....
Take your own advise...so race were your happy and have fun...quite your *****!ing....personally I hope you get to race in Key West with or without the 2 races.....But last I check OSS has rules and SBI / APBA has rules....so how about show a little respect and abide by them....I remeber just a few years ago you wanted everyone to race under one banner...now you just want it this way....
I say this to you and not anyone else on this thread because I know you and raced with you.....I know you and your team....you could do 2 more races along with a lot of other OSS teams ...there are plenty of OSS teams that have plenty of money...and remeber you have the hightest prise money's.....Randy you choose not to do any SBI / APBA races...thats the truth...even if a OSS race gets cancaled you still won't show....and thats OK your choice....but come on give it a rest already.....I'll see you in Pickwick, TN.
Glenn...were are you when I need you....

what beach are you refering to??? I have been to plenty of races and most people dont even know what is going on, except if they follow the sport, if they are at the beach and a boat race breaks out great, Free entertainment. Too many are impressed with the fleet of helocopters flying above. I would also guess as Saturday being a better beach day and Sunday familes go to church, and other family functions.
I am not that big of a fan of KW anyway so i could care less if OSS goes there, however i would like *** the racers to be able to race for a National Championship, because we are re***y only kidding ourselves with the World title. When's the last time you saw Japan win the world series??? They play baseb*** as well. If the Team Owners?Racers are happy where they are at, Why should it re***y matter to any of us, voicing our opinion is freedom of speech, but do you actu***y think you are going to convince *** the OSS guys to leave and race SBI/APBA??
