Tough break! How much did you have to spend for the survey?

Getting towards the end of the season, so there will be a lot of boats popping up for sale. But as you just found out, not all of them are good ones.

It was $14/ft but he only charged me $100 as he quit after the transom area and we agreed it was an absolute deal breaker.

I have another deal worked out now on a fellow member's boat. Very excited for this one as well, looking like a survey will happen Weds evening... fingers crossed!

IF that doesn't work out think about a 283 checkmate, much bigger than the 25 can handle alot of what the great lakes throw at it, single screw HP500 will run 68 and you can tow it with a half ton pick-up. I have mine for sale if your other deal falls through

Survey on the new boat checked out GOOD. Surveyor said it was a very good boat, transom good, stringers good, overall nice boat!
Excited, picking it up from the owner tonight. Plan to stay up giving it a real nice clean and buff tonight and hopefully drop it in the water tomorrow to enjoy!

Funny also, the surveyor mentioned to me that the owner of the previous boat I had a deal on (93 Sunsation) had mentioned he thought him and I were working together to give a false survey in attempts to haggle the price lower on his boat. Therefore, just a heads up if anyone is looking for a Sunsation in the area, I highly recommend getting a survey done!!

Note: Very glad I took everyone's advice and had a survey done!!

was it white, yellow and purple. Purple Alum Swim platform? If so, the owner knows its wet.

Well it sounds like there is no shortage of wet Sunsations running around... Don't they offer a lifetime warranty on their hulls???

Of course a bigger boat will(normally) be more comfortable. But, that doesn't mean that a smaller boat can't be just as fun. In fact, smaller boats can be more fun in many cases. If I woke up Monday stiff and sore, then I that means I had fun on Lake Michigan that weekend!

My most memorable time on Lake Michigan was in rollers that had huge spacing. I was in a 19' boat and we were getting major air and able to land before the next roller and accelerate into it and launch again. I won't bother saying how big they were, or how fast we were running because everyone will say I am full of chit. So, I will just say it was a riot. Unfortunately, that kind of spacing/roller combo doesn't happen often.
