Default 24 Pantera Insurance?

Looks like I am buying a 24' Pantera. It's a '95 with a single big block. I talked with USAA today (house and cars already with them) and the girl gave me a quote that's actually through Progressive, USAA is just the agent. I guess they also work with Markel but the girl told me that since the boat is a '95 they wouldn't cover it??? Anyway, with an agreed value replacement and $500,000 in liability the rate was $720 per year.

This sound about right? I'm in FL and the boat will be kept at my house.

I also looked on Total Dollar's website, but according to the site it says the boat must be over 26' and valued at over $50,000.

Thanks!

I've got a 92 24 Python with a 502. Bought 2 1/2 years ago. Insured for around 13,000. policy is $250 a year, 300,000 liability. Send me PM if you want me to dig out the paper work and hook you up with the provider. Had a dealer do all the paperwork so he was probobly able to get the better rate and no questions were asked. I was 23 and it was my first performance boat.

Thanks.

I ended up going with Progressive. The rate through them seemed pretty fair.

Sounds good for Fla. - I just bought an '02 25' Sunsation with a 6.2 Merc., trailer, high liability, low deduct., clean record, yada yada... and thru Boat US I got $528 / yr. with an off-season lay up.

I went with progressive on my Pantera. I'm at $303/year with $300k combined and $1,000 deductible.

BoatUS seems to be pretty good to people. My parents was quoeted a little over a 1,000 on their previous insurance carrier for a 2004 Sea Ray 240 sundeck. They went through BoatUS and cut that bill in half.

BoatUS wouldn't insure the Pantera for me.

Traveler Ins is what I used.

92 24 python with 502. 300,000 liability. Not sure of the deductible. Only 250 per year, But I haven't got this years bill yet.

Hey all
I order a 2007 24' Pantera single O/B. My insurance Co. State Farm gave me a rate of $1,000.00 per a year for full coverage with a $500.00 deductable.
After reading all the post I may have to continue looking for a better rate, I have a few months to kill.
