Progressive is a great insurance company.......... long as you never have a claim Im my experience with them they were terrible. A few years back 05-06 I think Charlotte MI had a large hail storm come through (very rare here) almost every single home in the area hot new roof, siding, windows, A/C units, facia. ect also almost every was totaled or fixed & re painted. I was pd 36,000 to fix my house (NOT progressive) my 280 baja was in the driveway uncovered I just got back from the lake & the storm came VERY fast!! The hail blew thousands of holes in the vinyl, broke all my gauge faces, broke off most of the toggle switches & cracked the hatch cover. I call progressive to file a claim & they say we know nothing about a hail storm in your area, I sad are you kidding me!!! almost every single house & vehicle were effected!! Needless to say they came out looked at the boat & denied my claim because it was old & the vinyl was aged & easily susceptible to damage WTF kinda excuse is that!! I fought with them for a couple months about it finally knew I wasnt going to get $hit out of them. I cancelled & went with a different company, way more expensive but at least Ill have coverage if something happens now.

"You get what you pay for" or even less with progressive!

I hate to admit it, but I have Progressive. (seems the owner is a libtard of the highest order). But, I broke both propshafts and destroyed both props last Oct.
They paid 100% of the repairs without any deduction for a deductible. Didn't know I didn't have a deductible. Just got my renewal......same premium, but I now have a $1,000 deductible. First ever boat claim and was very pleased with the way it was handled.FWIW.

I've seen the opposite of most of you. A good friend had Progressive coverage on two different boats. On the first he hit something and destroyed his outdrive. In the 2nd boat he tore a hole in the bottom and the boat sank in saltwater. Progressive paid both claims quickly with no hassle. I know he wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Is there a web site where you can look up something like claim payout stats?

Im glad some of you have had better luck then I had. I also have a very good friend of mine that sank his 21ft predator in lake MI when he hit something in the water. Broke a 24" x 12" hole in the bottom it made it back to a private beach & sank there. Progressive did NOT cover any of his losses. Denied the claim because he hit "drift wood" about 1/2 mile out lake Mi near Grand Haven. I thought thats why we pay ins. just incase we hit something in the water....... accidents happen.

I had a claim to repair an outdrive after hitting something. An adjuster looked at it and said the damage was not caused by hitting something. The outdrive shop disagreed, but they still didn't want to pay the claim. I told them I would see them in court. Before I went to court progressive hired an outdrive mechanic to look the parts over, and he agreed the damage was not normal wear and tear. They paid the claim. This was all settled withen a week of the damage.

I am with Wakezone. They know what it is, what it has in it and what it runs. Unless there is a catostrophic event or it sinks I will never make a claim.
happy with auto claims? thats a first.... you must be one of their PRO shops..

I have Progressive and I want to change. So far, I have not made any claims, but they keep on raising my rates. 7 years ago, I had $120,000 replacement value for $1400. Now I have $75,000 replacement value for $1850. Cost more and I have half the coverage.
