you blame progessive here but you never say anything about the shop doing the work ??? i dont get it. you say parts were billed out but not replaced so im guessing progressive paid the bill and they also got screwed.id say if you left with a bent propshaft they are a very incompotent shop

Legal name of our company is: Wake Zone Marine Insurance Brokerage Inc.
It's really not uncommon though for people to say they are with "XYZ Company" when in fact "XYZ" is an agency, not an insurance company. I guess it's like saying you're with an investment brokerage firm like Ameriprise.... you are with "Ameriprise" but your actual money is invested elsewhere....
In the brokerage world whatever agency you're with owns the rights to your policy. Meaning, if Joe Smith comes to Wake Zone to insure his boat and through our carrier contracts I place him with ABC Insurance Company. Joe's insurance policy will be written by ABC Insurance but owned by Wake Zone. In the event that Wake Zone severs its contract with ABC Insurance Joe will remain a client of Wake Zone and Wake Zone will place the business with another carrier....

I had a claim on a camper I owned and got screwed. I had them for five years and then when I had a legit claim they didn't come through.
It's a long story but what I found out from friends that work as adjusters for Nationwide, Farmers and State Farm along with the repair shops I dealt with that Progressive is known for not paying their claims and taking care of their insured.
Ultimately they ended up paying 17.5% of the full value that the camper that THEY appraised. They basically played the argue and make me wait game until I just threw in the towel after about 6 months of their ****.
In the end I'm actually glad I learned my lesson on a small item like my camper instead of my Fountain.

But the big one was I lost a 312 fastech on 75 just outside TN. Trailer and all went Into the woods at 70 mph down a hill through the woods there she laid upside down.. Now, I do insure all my boats for an agreed amt. since I usually up grade them allot. Not only did they pay the amnt. within a couple weeks, they helped me find another 312. Best of all they said if I bought a boat within 30 days they would pay the taxes, they did.. I wrote a thank-you letter to corp. for a job well done. I have had them now for 20 years I bet now. First was my 1979 Nordic
Jet with a built to the gills 460,, ins. Is a rip, but when you need them is when you get what you pay for.

I've never had them....about 7 years ago I watched a buddy with a 89 38 Fountain fight them for 2 years. Boat was totalled in a storage warehouse fire while he was out of town, they caught the teenagers who set it. 2 years later he settle for 80 cents on the dollar so he could finally get another boat.
Apparently he had the boat insured for $80K. It was on a new manning trailer, boat had new paint, new cockpit interior, almost new 500EFI's, #4 speedmasters and trannies (boat previously had 900hp motors). They claimed it was worth 1989 "book" value. He finally accepted about $65k.
He has another boat and pays more than a progressive quote he got....cause it's not worth the risk of dealing with them.
However: I have read stories where they did pay out.......I just think those are the minority, not majority.
