Boatme-
I don't know what to say, except Thank You...your nice comments certainly started my Thursday with a big smile!
Jack's Jags are some of the strongest cats built, IMHO, and that's why I bought this one. I think Doug will agree that the Jags can take a "hit" without breaking-up. Maybe.... that's more important than sheer speed.
There are lots of photos posted in this forum about the 40's build-up, but feel free to PM me with any questions. Also note: I get the greatest thrills from "the build" and am infamous (with my wife) for selling boats when completed: just so I can start on a new project. Sorta like Trick Marine/Fred, but I finish mine.....

If so, what differences did in performance you notice?

No I haven't done it, researched it and would like to do it. Just a lot of coin, and try to keep my prioritys straight to get in on the water first and hopefully lead toward that kind of stuff later.
Argh!!!!!
Have to wait and see how it all plays out over time, buying three of everything has it's toll's.

Boatme,
Not sure if your into the Cougar V-bottoms,
But I know of a 38' thats undergone serious resto the past few years and he's mentioned more than once of selling once completed. Beautiful boat and it will be very fast.
Not sure where price will be, but I do know he will not sell just for the sake of moving it.

John, My Jag is still in the shop. I had hoped to get it back by mid october for one more run but now my insurance is off for the winter. I would like it returned to me just so I can visit the boat in my shop. I give myself one more year with this boat, if my luck doesn't change, I will sell and raise tomatoes and vegetables. That should lower my stress level. I will post pictures when it is finished. Thanks for asking. Doug
