All the engine master builders will tell you a dual plane makes more usable power across a wider RPM band and only loses out at the very top where you spend little time anyway.

sucks its hard to do anything crazy with gel coat.

I think you can do just about everything(sans lettering that's almost always added in paint) - its just a lot harder to do and you have to do it upside down and backwards.

There are a few basic things that seperate MOST (not all) west coast boats form East coast boats.

1st- is gelocat vs paint. most of the West coast stuff is Gelcoat. Most of the East - paint.

2nd swim steps and windscreens molded vs bolted on- My 91 Lavey had the swimsteps MOLDED in vs bolted on with a L bracket. It also had the windscreen molded in. As far as I know these are some of the first applications like this.

3rd There are few boat factories in the West - almost all the west stuff is custom.

There are of course exceptions to this but as a rule if I see a bolted on swim step - I think East Coast.

Its also worth mentioning that sometimes when guys say they like "classic looks" (simple schemes) they are often compensating for the fact that their pet builder just doesnt have the core competency to do anything else.

I also feel compelled to point out I dont only like West coast stuff. I grew up in the midwest and got to sample many brands from both coasts and I have my favorites on each side.

I do think the single most important factor in a repeat purchase is your relationship with the vendor no matter where they are. The people are as important as the product.

Some guys say Im to into "bling"- no way.

I simply dont think things like combined plastic throttle/shifter combos have any place on a performance boat built new today.

Another pet peeve of mine is fixed vs. pop up cleats. anyone whos ever hooked a swimsuit or cut themsleves getting in an out (which is everyone whos been boating more than 1 full season) CANNOT prefer fixed cleat to pop ups. All teh little seemingly simple detail add to to lot in something you really use.

I will be redoing all the interior its pretty much gutted now. once I get this car done im working on im gunna pull the boat in and scrape all the barnicles off the hull and give it a quick sand and figure out exactly what I need to switch my trailer from a roller into a bunk and get that all ordered.
someone else said it looks like a libby too personally I don't think so my buddy has one.
i'm gunna get taking some pics as i go. just got a new cam for xmas i broke my old one so I have been without for abit.
Once the trailer has bunks im going to be replacing all the stringers and wood in it. then after that I want to flip it upside down and fix the bottom up and re gel it.
see those black things on the side behind the window they are scoops for the engine bay im goign to make fiberglass scoops for there that stick out abit and mold them in.
She's gunna look liek a completely different machine once shes painted

The oil filter relocator would be cool, Id fill all the filters with oil before I started the first time or youll run dry for a while.
2 filters is a bit overkill, but cool.

What are you thing the two links on the top would be good for?
Marine oil coolers are always water to oil, not air to oil unless you are thinking of something else.
