It was in October last year, but this year it will either be in September or October again, October is a great time in Chattanooga as the weather is about 80 and the leaves are all starting to turn but still plenty warm enough to run around in shorts and a tee shirt. The mornings are the only time it is cool.

Dammmagnum Roger has a dark blue 27 sport with twin big blocks that runs like hes got the devil on his tail.Roger has done some machine work on a couple 540s i put together for Vixen. One was a solid lifter eng.that the one time i raced it my diver turned the key off on the second lap and i never felt right about racing it again.then we built one with a hyd.cam and just milder all around that i let dave use last year for the Sarasota race,it was awsome in that phantom. When ever i get to Rogers place i mess up his whole day and neither one of us gets anything done.

Hello Mag 27

Roger always had a fast 27 sport , he was one of the fastest on Bay in Jersey when he lived up there,, then it was Red and called the Jolly Roger
Ran big blocks and some speedo type drives made in North Jersey.

He was running in the 80s back in the 1970s with it.

Thank You
Jim

24degree and jim,Roger keeps his sport in naples by his home i think but at the shop also.He sold the red one to a fellow on the east coast,i seen it once when him and Roger run both boats in a polker run we were in a few years back, both very nice sports. He told me the blue runs in the 90s He was telling me about a 30ft version of the sport he molded but has never finihed.I havent seen it but would sure love to get my hands on it.

Hello Mag27,

Thanks for the information. Roger did a lot of work on my Sport when he had his shops up in NJ. Raised the drives, new Prop Shafts to use Merc Clever Props on a 270 Volvo Drive, Hydraulic Steering, K Plane Tabs, Trued the bottom, and a few other things. He dure knows Magnums

90s now that fast for a Sport.
Thank you
Jim
