Oh, yeah, we had her dragged to Canada and TK and Rick went across with the trailer to bring her home. I THINK it was repaired by Aero Marine. The entire racing number (and the fiberglass was wiped out from the stuffing at the North end of Peche Island. It's a funny story as to how Bob and Connie were trying to let us know we had this huge hole in the starboard bow.

Well here my find, back in 1975 when Wally Harper was racing Li'l SMIDGEN his sons raced a 24' Cobra [SMIDGEN TOO] with twin 302 Holman Moody Ford power. It's set up as a old school race boat. Its all there but needs to be gone through completely it should make a good historic race boat. The trim tabs even have the SMIDGEN TOO name cast in the plates. Here is a old pic more to come, now I need to work on getting a Magnum.

OK, last posting on this thread. Searace, as usual, is right. Poor Bonanza was also damaged and sunk in Lake Pontchartrain but the regular crew was nowhere near it. We had loaned the boat to Davey Gillmore to do a couple of races down South and he and a guy named Chuck were in it. I don't know if tyhe USCG responded in that way there as well, though. More likely the story is an amalgamation of the two incidents. Davey passed away last year and he's sorely missed by his old pals. He was one of the best throttle/trim men in racing and was known everyone that was anyone in Offshore "back in the day".
