Ah, the days when Bob Lisch and Connie rode this thundering single-engine beast! They even tried a two-speed gearbox!

Before we knew how to ventilate a prop, we all tried crazy ways break the prop's lose. They tried trimming the drive all the way out but the U joint's would break, the next step was the 2 speed car trans with a hand operated clutch ??? nocig had many hole's to fill I bet !!

Short Circuit had two racing live's, around 1976 this Mag was powerd by 305cu engine's and Volvo out drive's at a time when most were built with 280trs package's, Russ did this so he could race her in the P-1 class against boat's like Nova's that were racing in that class. He cleaned up winning many race's. Skip buy's this Mag and 25+ year's later hangs Bravos on her and she is a P-5 winner !!!

After my friend ygrowup posted this I could not resist posting my brother's 1968 Donzi not a Mag but on Lake St Clair, shure look's like the Mag in Dave's post, sunk at least once, and road very hard . With vee drive's and big block's they say she was a race boat at one time, he has owned her 35 year's.

Default I remember!

That photo was taken on Lake St. Clair on a gray fall day. Denny Pastor is near the camera, Duane Michno was throttling and George Handyside was in the navigator slot. I took the photo from a friend's boat.

Who posted it?

No, actually, Chartreuse became Wishing Well, named after Clem and Nick's restaurant on the corner of 14 Mile and Gratiot (now a Hooter's). The boat resides now in Monroe, owned by a very nice man that loves it but would part with it if offered the right money. T.K. knows all about it.

And we called them monkey bars...

Danny, T.K's friend bought the boat and it was brown, Danny talked to me before he bought it and took it down to Monroe Mi. At some time later he sold it to the present owner,, what boat was Bonaza then??? ,,the bar's & hatch are the same as Chartreuse and the same today. Referee Rich First would alway's say to me take them Chicken sh#*t bars of that boat. Rich did make the next guy to race my Mag take them off.

Thinks we should gather up you guys and huddle up with TK @ Monroe Boat Club to sort this all out!.....could check out nocigarette's ride while down there and introduce him to some of these legends. Think I still have an open tab from the last race there ('96) ?!
