I'm guessing your eyes aren't good enough to see it.

I spoke to Sparky and hopefully I will be able to give my Mag the original look again.
Now there is only the small issue of closing the hatch once it is back on the hinges...

I didnt want to cut the hatch so I used low profile flame arresters and it worked, and It didnt starve the engines for air.

I found new Garelick Step Plates on ebay!
Wholesale marine had a couple left. They might have more in stock but you would probably need to call them.
These step plates have the aluminium base and 7 teak strips and are 5" x 12". Garelick discontinued these 2 years ago and I have called many of their reseller trying to find some in stock but no one has had them for a long time but Wholesale-Marine.
I don't have a picture yet as these are now with my brother in Denver but I'll post a picture as soon as I have them.

One Step pad finally arrived to Sweden. The other one is lost in shipping and is not likely to return.
So I have kept searching as the Garelick Step Pad I did recieve looks fantastic.
Last week I found them again, in Japan! This company is reluctant to export but I'm trying to convince them.

The early Sports had the 16" pads while the later ones had 12 1/2". Our Sport is a -77 so we are looking for 12 1/2" pads.

What would be a good method to bring back the luster to old aluminum - I mean, really make it shine! I just removed the teak inserts to the gunwale step pads and what's left is a very dull oxidized surface. Also, the teak inserts
(although intact) are very dark and dried out.......would sanding a couple of layers off bring it back? .......I really can't afford to lose too many layers since they're pretty worn to begin with.............................................. ..Thanks
