Taking a ride next weekend to see it - and bringing a hitch:D

Still fishing or did you get it ? Saw your post today on the Formula forum about bottom paint I may try the soda blasting on my restoration of my 24' Cobra. but that project is on hold till next year. Paint strippers are just nasty.

Thank you for the interest in my project - it helps me realize I'm not the only crazy one. I think I'm about to buy myself a second job that I don't get paid for, and spend money to do. I'm nervous as hell getting into this, and it's post like yours that push me on.
Yeah still fishing, but I've got a hook in it, and need to reel it in.
We're really close.
Talk me out of this!!! Or, talk me into it. I really want to do it. I just think I'm nuckin futz for doing this. Yet, I still wanna do it.

Alright guys.
I had a sobering moment - and I have to walk away from this one.
It's just more of a project than I'm ready for.
NoCig - if you're still looking for a project, I'll give you the contact info. Helluva nice guy.
I was just staring at the pictures last night for a few hours, and it's just too big of a project for my budget/space/time, and I can't give it the justice it deserves.

Good move.......I always say a boat in good condition is still a project......:D

I second that emotion. WAY too much work unless journey is the destination.

Ya know bitting off more than ya can chew is fun.........Dont rule it out......That boat needs a good home, who cares if it takes ya ten years to finish it.......It will be even cooler in ten years because it will be a 40 year old bad arse boat instead of a 30yer...........

Thanks for the contact info offer........I want to due a twin small block catamaran next.......

You're right, it does need a good home.
That's why I thought of you. You did an incredible job on yours.
I don't have a shop to take on a project this big.
I've been divorced once, and don't want to go through that again - and I kinda like my wife alot:D
If the boat sat in the backyard for ten years, I'd be living in it for five of them.
I'm gonna keep shopping for a project, just one that doesn't need as much as this one.
It could be a really nice boat - just gonna gonna take more money and time than I have

It's like Clint Eastwood (Dirty Harry) says......"A man's got to know his limitations."

:D

nocigarette 07-15-2007 05:33 AM

I agree, know your limitations.....Then when ya hit them buy better parts so you can exceed them...
