magnum 25- engine choice
#11
If Bud uses your pictures as a reference ,you just gotta be flattered .... lol
Notice that the horrible rise (or peak) in the centre of the windscreen was eliminated so that it now runs 'flat' across the beam of the deck ?
Also the bowrail was marginally lowered but lengthened by about 10.5 feet to sweep into the lines of the side of the windscreen. Not to mention making it very functional , all without destroying the overall look of the boat.
Kinda like what Brownie did on his Nova 24's .
And you don't want to know what just those 2 custom pieces set us back .
Note to Bud ... I know that Gerard sent you his HIN .. Where did his stand in the production ? I explained to him that I was puzzled because one of the old factory guys told my brother back in 2000 or so that only two green ones were made .. Ours was a single and the other was a twin , so I assume that Gerard has the brochure boat . but he said that it was always a single , not a twin like the brochure boat .
Any ideas on that ??

Gerard boat was the 24th built out of 35,my list does not list color or engine choice, however the 25 in the Magnum brochure is a single.here are the rest of the pictures on your beautiful restoration. Bud

Yes , the one and only ...
@ Bud , now I'm gonna get a microscope out and go over that brochure again . I'm sure I can't tell if there's 2 sticks on it .. but I'm going to have a close look . I hope you don't shame me and say it's clear as day .. lol
BUT ... a big but , if I can't see it , how do you know it was a twin ?

The Blue and White 25 Magnum was done by Steve / Madboyuz...very well done, hope mine turns out that nice.If you look at the back page you will see that the engine is a single small block crusader with the special designed exhaust that you can also see on my finished small block for the 25 that should produce around 375- 400HP. OK , it never occured to me that the engine photo in the brochure was from the green boat ... I thought I might have been doing too much of this .
But , then I pulled out the magnifying glass and had a look again . There is a console shot of the green brochure boat ..clear as day .. And there's two sticks !
So I said .. maybe it's the engine in the other boat ..the tan/orange one .. Had a closer look , and hey , there's two sticks in that one too ! Have to look real close 'cause you can't quite see the transom of that boat to make out how many drives are bolted to it .
Bud , did you see where Brownie once said that there was 7 'undocumented' 25 s made beside the 35 known ones ?
That Crusader looks sweet too !
Steve

There are always two sticks even on a single engine set up...just different type of controls. Still need one for forward / reverse and one for throttle. That is how the original Morse controls were set up,see below.Any one looking for one of the old controls Merc.or Morse let me know. Bud
Also on Brownies comment on additional units built don't... know if that is true. Know that they would pop a hull and run it to see if that changed configuration engine position, changes to the hull made any differences.Send me his comments need to talk to him on something else. Bud
