Money pit is an understatement!!!! And I have to stop myself from looking at receipts!
Engines are back together and ready for installation . . but the fiberglass shop that was lowering my floor seriously screwed up . and I'm being polite as type this . . boat has now been moved to another shop and they are ripping everything out that the other shop did and are doing it correctly. On top of all of that..... read this post .. . http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/f...need-help.html On the bright side, nice buy on the steering set up!, I presume for the Spitfire? Mario |

Mario .........Just thinking of the long financial path of restoring a boat the words "money pit" seems the best description & a rock solid phrase...so, to be totally crazy & absent to all logic I've decided to buy a new boat!... I don't know how to justify going deeper, but here's my feelings......the 27 won't be done for several years (Doing all the work myself has saved thousands, but the slow methodical process I've gone through so far (glass & structural work) has it's draw backs on getting her splashed quicker than if I paid someone. With all that said, I don't want to go through another summer without a boat. The money to buy this turn key boat and that's the key word "turn key" would not have even bought me a pair of good SB's w/outdrive units for my present project...........as far as the 27' ???........will still be here, but the grinding of glass will give way to enjoyment on the ocean!........lets hope! |

----Short Circuit is finally coming home!!! Bought new at Emerald City Marine in 1976 and raced out of Algonac for 30 years, it just seemed right that this 27 Sport comes back to the Lake Saint Clair area. No racing anymore as she has proven herself many, many times over already, but hopefully theres a lot of fun left!!!. Pictures to follow, or just Google "Short Circuit Magnum"..........Bill S

----App. 475 a side, and roughly a hair below 80. If I trimmed it out a bit more I believe it would creep up just a bit above 80......Bill S
----I should add that these engines are a bit lower than when SC was actually raced. |

Thank you
I want to thank Bill and Mark for all the work he has done in order to retrieve my US-1 trophy. I look forward to see it in the near future. When it was on display at race rock in Orlando i was contacted by Doug Gardner ( Throttle man and Friend ) of it. My wife I then went down to race rock a week later and talked to Bob Moore and was told it was removed and he did not know where it was. He lied right to my face, what a guy he is. no wonder it closed.

Awesome to see the trophy reunited with Bill, Russell and Short Circuit; such a pedigree on all counts.
I still regret letting Short Circuit go especially as I ironically ended up back in Reno after only 18 months. Julian |
Great boat nice work.

----Short Circuit will be at the annual "Racers Reunion" at Brownies on lake St.Clair!!!

----While digging Short Circuit out of mothballs we discovered that its time for shift cables. Got em and need to install em this week! Gotta make sure we can make the reunion!!!...…..Bill S
