Shouldnt be an issue. To them you have a 35' boat. Nothing more. Make sure they put it on the bunks correctly. Ive seen a few unsupported hulls sticking out past the bunks. Good way to develop a hook. Lets see a pic of your boat. I want to know when I see it on the water. |

PoK wont drystack it. they said it weighs too much. Unfortunately the cost of a wet slip & lift is gonna be more than what i can pay out of pocket right now. :(

Trailer it and keep it at one of the storage units in the area. I did that for a yr with my old boat. Not that big of an issue to put in a indian point with their kick azz courtesy dock. I did everything by myself with wife in the truck. You can unload and load the boat w/o starting motors or getting into boat at all....its that great of a setup. |

barging in on Brians question, we are looking at buying a place down there, but as I am finding the whole slip issue is a pain in the ass. Since you can't have anyhting over a 30ft slip at a house and most of the marinas are setup for bass boats with 10x24s I am thinking that my housing location is going to be dependant on slip location  I am used to LOTO and how easy they make it to have a larger slip.
With that said what marinas have yearly slips for rent in a minimum 12 x 38 size? and where on th elake are they. We are looking at houses between KC and Campbell point in that area THANKS Christian :drink: |
waiting to read these responses! :party-smiley-004:
the only other one i know of between kc & campbell point is baxter, but its really small. i think it will be better for me to convince my parents to sell their house on table rock & buy someting at loto. lol. |
Baxter only has 24s and few 30's, I talked to them this week

I dont know guys....check all the big marinas. You can get lucky in finding a house with a large slip, but yes, the situation sucks. Why the f*ck do you think Im stuck with a 27' boat........to bad I like this lake that much. You will too.
|
Suck it up fellas! :evilb: I put my 33 in a 28' slip.
We do what we have to do. I don't imagine a public marina would let you do this, but I am in a private dock. I have also seen a few larger slips for sale. Been a month or so ago since I looked, and they were real proud of them too. |

i like the lake, but slowly beginning to prefer loto better. its a little closer & more to do (& see). But the free place to stay sure makes it hard to pass up trl. |
There are ways around the rules. Apply for an overhang/roof extension. Many times you can get the roof extended several feet while maintaining the same "slip" length.

another F'd up thing is if you look at the slip sizes for larger boats, they are 14, 15, or 16' in width. most used 12/14k lb lifts are for 10-12' wide slips. :angry-smiley-055:
Yeah...thats a goofy deal. I think 30 x 14 is max size private slip now available. Who the f*ck has a boat that is 14 feet wide and only 30 feet long? I did ask the corps girl becky if I could substitute 4 feet on the width for 4 more feet in length and she, of course, said no way. She also said that no part of the roof can hang more than 30 ft. If you have a 28 or 24 ft slip and want your roof extended to 30ft they have to come measure the distance in between your dock and next one...if applicable. It sucks, but oh well......at least the water is super clean, unlike LOTO. |
Mine hangs out 4 feet . There is a scarab in my cove that hangs out atleast 10' or 12' has been that way for years he just backs it in and covers it. Just bu a good custom cover and put it in . screw loto

The Corps wants "no permanent structural modifications" to docks, unless approved. I have rigged a gutter on the end of the roof over my slip using angle iron and then clamping to the uprights. Anyway, it obviously doesn't stop rain from hitting the part of the boat that is not under cover, but it does keep the daily dew from dripping on my boat everyday. Helps keep things cleaner and no more black streaks down the sides of my boat.
There is a 14x44 slip for sale down the street from me that would be great, but the dock it is in needs a lot of work plus re-foaming which means a big $ hit coming to the slip owners. They are asking 50K which is a little rich for me. I will continue to "hang out". |

Anybody planning on being on the water this weekend?

Lets all tie up and have some beers. |
Sounds good. The weather channel is predicting sunny shine & 80 degrees. I need to call my marina and see if my dock has power for the lift. If not I am bringing a generator.
|

There you go Christian! What part of the lake you at Bill? I cant afford $50k slip & if i could, not sure i would want to pay practically the same price as i did for the boat that will sit in it.

I was planning on getting the boat out this weekend, but pulled the drives to lube the u-joints and found an input shaft seal leaking, so I don't know if I will get it repaired in time.:( |

If I don't have my drive fixed by then, I will have to join the under 33 crowd, in fact it will have to be the under 15' crowd. If they'll have me. :ernaehrung004: Mill Creek, Spring Creek, Cow or Little Cow??? |
LAKE LEVEL UPDATE
The white river at norfolk needs to drop 4', from 18.42' to 14' before bullshoals, and norfolk lake can empty into them. Bullshoals needs to drop 10' before Table Rock can dump any quantity of water into it. The last 24 hrs, the white river at norfolk dropped 0.45 feet. This does suck. |
I might swing by Port Of Kimberling just to look. They have 2 30 Outlaws they are clearancing out.
In Water Boat Show May 17th & 18th Port of Kimberling Hello Boaters! The weather forecast for this weekend is great! Summer is right around the corner and Memorial Day weekend is just over a week away and that means the boating season will be in full swing! Are you ready??? A few of you may have had problems because of the high water, but remember, high water is better than low water! Many of our customers have purchased one of our 4 or 5 man rafts to get to their docks and they say it works well. I have launched boats at different ramp areas every week since the water started rising with out a problem. As a dedicated boater, I'm sure you are ready to overcome any obstacles, get out on the water and enjoy the beautiful lake! And overcoming obstacles is exactly what Port of Kimberling has done to host the "Summer Splash" in Water Boat Show this Saturday and Sunday May 17th & 18th from 10 am to 6 pm. All POK services will be open to the public and admission is FREE! I am inviting you and anyone else you would like to bring, to stop down, say hi and check out our new boats! Cope Marine, (as well as other dealers) will have several boats, in slips, available for demo rides to help you find your perfect boat! This is a great chance not only to get the feel of different boats, but a chance for YOU to take advantage of some great specials we have for the show and SAVE $ $$'s! Of course, if you don't see what you like at the show, chances are, with almost to 400 boats in inventory we have something that will fit your needs, let me know and I can find it for you! And if you do see something you like, in a matter of a few days, we can get you on the water with your new boat! Don't forget to check out our web site at www.CopeMarine.com to see some of our inventory. |
Hey Jimmy, while u are poking around Kimb City, can you see if there are any storage places (preferabally inside) that could store a boat on trailer. probably will be pushin 43-44' as a guess.
I tried calling a couple during the day down by marina & no one picked up the phone. |
