Fixxer, boat is looking good buddy :drink:
Wish I could have made it but I've had a lot going on lately. I've got good and bad news... I won't be attending as many runs nowadays with my boat. I bought a place at Lake of the Ozarks and it will be living there year round :drink: |

That is the 4-74 bridge at the Peoria Lock just down from Captain Ron's. There is a channel cut off the river for barges to unload to the West. Nice place to get out of the current and just float.

I have never been on the river, will be coming from Decatur. What is the best place for me to put in and the best place to find a room close by? how is the depth of the water on the river? How far does this run go and how many stops? Thanks J
|
I use this to track river levels.
http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/index.php?wfo=ilx River will be on the rise with today's rain so there might be a bit of debris in the water by Saturday. Really depends on how much rain we get. I doubt it will rise enough to wash crap off the banks. |

East Port or Detweiller Marina, Stoney Creek is a very nice hotel 30 seconds from East Port . spoke to harbor master this week at East port to book a few slips and he mentioned river is up 8" from 3 weeks ago so things are looking up .stay in the marked chanel
Jeff If leaving from East Port, it's approximately a 120 mile day since you're basically doing the trip twice. The depth of the water is not an issue at all, as long as you stay within the channel markers. The only questionable part will be pulling into EPBC from the main channel. It's not very well marked (at all) and it's pretty shallow thru there. Follow some other boats and you should be fine. See you guys Saturday. |

The Henry Poker Run was a great time. Good turnout, nice boats, good food, good service at all the stops, good people, lots of skimpy bikinis.
Looking forward to next year. |
I had a blast. I was impressed with the turnout.

Yes, it was a great time. Weather was perfect. Lots of nice boats and friendly people. Thanks to Brandon and Amanda of Henry Yacht Club and Todd from East Peoria Boat Club for putting on a fun cheap event. My brother and I are always taking lots of pictures and here are some we took.
