What about trying a few of the Yanmars, actually 4 of them. I had 2 in my 4300 V, 480/935 very reliable, good resale and are warrantied at many area's. Good luck:cool:

39' MTI ran 92mph it should of had a 2 speed gearbox. I think it could have gone a 100 with some major work.

Is seatek a good brand of diesel power?

It would be like buying a high strung motor...1400hp..., and expecting it to last more than 100 hours without any problems. Yanmar and Cummins are the way to go, higher reving diesels 3200-3400rpms, great hp to torque ratio, dealer network for servicing and most of all, excellent resale. Jeff

What about the IMCO Duramax?

bob 07-19-2007 08:48 PM

If less than 2000# is the target weight, looks like you are into a low hp diesel or a higher hp wanna be diesel. You could get into a Cat C7/3126E that would have torque around 900#' and weigh 1800# or so. Now you could get into a Cat C13 and get torque close to 2000#' and have a weight of around 2600# :D .

The Banks is suppose to be out in a week or so, but they are coming out with their highest hp version first. I would like a lower hp verson with more durability, then I could put 3 in my next Nortech V, vs the 2 Yanmars I had. Jeff
