Ideally the 55' would be rigged with power that weighs 2000lbs or less per side. I am no diesel genius but I would bet the C32 weighs more than that. You also could rig a single diesel powerplant putting out 1800 HP connected to 2 seperate surface drives. Performance would be directly related to the overall weight of the power.
I believe the 39' with diesel power ran in the mid 80's. BTW, these would be your C-32's :eek: Dry weight w/ gear 7000 lbs. each. They push an 80' along ok. |

Catmando we ran 102 but had a hard time getting on plain. 92 was the best with the boat getting up. A 2 speed gearbox wood do the trick. ( hard time means about 2 miles)
