Tommy would not sell you the engines if the boat couldnt handle the power.
My suggestions is to arrange for him to fly out and confirm the install and do some set up and testing. It will be money well spent
Hello guys, i am located in Stockholm Sweden. I bougt a N-T 36` 3 year ago with Mrd 850 it run about 130 mph with 6# drives and Herring 5 blade 17x33`. Now i bought 2 new Engines from Chief that will be deliverd to Stockholm in February. These are 557 cui Twin turbos with all the latest in motor technology they tell me. In the dyno with 18,5 psi they put out 1461 hp on 93 pump gas and the rew limiter kicks in at 7000 rpm i think. Du you think the boat can handel that Power and how careful must i be with it ? I am boating in the Stockholm archipellago so it is not so rough seas..more like your lakes i think. So i was wondering about props ?, they tell me that 17x38 will be the best for me. I am the only 36 in Sweden that i knew of and there is only 1 more NT here a 50` with T- 53 turbines so if you experienced guys hawe som thoughts about this i be more than happy. / ps sorry for the bad Spelling i hope you understand :-).

Ok i hear what you say..but the guy in the middle on the Picture from Chief is Swedens best offshoremotor builder. He Went ower and buildt those Engines toghether with Tommy.
So he could se how they where buildt from scratch. They know each other since many years so i think they got it under Control they hawe buildt enines toghether before.
The only thing they wanted me to check out was with Nor-Tech about the props so it will be as right from start as it possibly can. They Think 17x38, 16 rake 5 blade Herring. And if there is a risk that we must extend the water picups if it flyes to high in those speeds. So i hawe sent a mail to nortech and a pm from here to Terry..but he havent answerd yet. He might Think where nuts .

Where are the water pickups located on that model? If the straight transom following style with a 45deg end cut like my boat has, you could make a sliding tube that fits over the existing tube and lock the position with a pipe compression fitting. That would allow you to dial in the height up or down before building a new pair if needed.
Nice pics also. Love your boat hauler, don't see those over here, plus you never have to search for a crane when you need one...
