I just got my Oct issue of Hot Boat Magazine...They tested 6 Family Bowriders the 28 Nordic Heat was one of them.....This Heat was tested with the V-10 Viper Powerplant....It says in the write up that they were hopeing to get 80MPH + but under the conditions that day they only got 76.6 MPH at 5500RPM`s

WOW that makes zero sense. We delivered a 28 with a HP 525 / ITS / XR. The client got 77. With the the stock prop. Still dialing in the prop after one change 79 we expect to see 80-81 when we are finished. The 625 has more torque, more HP and weighs 400 lbs less than the 525. That boat shoul hit 85+ no problem.

Gotta love those speedos
The numbers in Hot Boat are not that far off...The 625 should run a solid upper 78-79 on GPS when they get the gearing correct
BobLs 610 dyno hp with ITS/XR ran 75-77 GPS pre Whipple. Steve Zs ran 74-76 with stock 575SCi. Several 500EFIs run 69-73 all on GPS so in my eyes it sounds just about perfect actually.
Don't have clue why they would have put the high gears in that setup?? especially with a mid power motor that likes high rpms. Someone was missed the boat
with that selection.
On a funner note, my buddy with my old motor in his Heat ran into the Heat with the Teague 800 at Lake Powell. Guy said he was running low 90s at Lake Powell. Well, he got a real good look at my buddies transom as he left him "easily" with a boat load at 88 GPS at 3600 feet elevation and 100 degrees
Even better is that was with his 5 blade Powell cruise prop
