That's pretty accurate.

I had a 2001 w/496HO at sea level...best speed was 67 and that was going downhill (cool temps, light load, perfect chop, with current, etc.) and never saw it again. Typical summer top speeds with that set-up is 62 maybe (fuel, 80's, passengers). If it's in the 90s and humid with a full load...break out the oars LOL!!!

BTW...that top speed was after testing a bunch of props...best set-up for this boat was a Bravo 24 stock.

I think they started in 2000, and yes my hull was stepped.

Re: Newbie Nordic Owner (Maybe)

Mine is stepped, and I have the 502 stock, with a K&N filter. 24 prop. Most of my buddies have the 496 w/ a 26 prop and pull me by a hair (maybe a MPH or 2).

Keep in mind, I am boating in Havasu mostly in 100 degree temps. So low 60's is pretty good loaded with crew and crap.

There are several Nordic owners on our site if you want more info there.

They are great boats, you won't disappointed. (But I do wish I could get into the 70's)
