Wind deflectors for 35 Flame
#61
We tried those on a 35 and they were horrid. Cheap construction and would blow off the LEXAN...the owner went to the Kals for fear of being CLOCKED in the face by one of the Wind Aways flying off.

There are several here that have never had a problem under 75
Actually, that's the first complaint I've ever heard about the Windaways
Guess I'm not in the 90+ mph club anymore

Why the heck would you have them up at over 90 anyway???
That might cost you at least 1 mph
Construction? From what I've seen, I'll say that's a toss up at best!!
What ever fits your needs (and wallet) I suppose

We had them on our flame. The only problem I have with them was they were too small. You could position them to deflect the wind but if the wind direction changed while running it would get you in the face. I made new shields that were wider and that solved the problem. We loved them and they did a good job for us. Never had a problem coming off on ours. Not sure what speed you were at or how tight you had the clamps but we didn't have any problems.

Again...I can't speak for the 90mph club, but I loved the Wind-Aways. The best part is that you could take them off when you were done and retain the clean look of your windscreen instead of having some contraption ruining that area of the boat. No holes either. After 2.5 years of runnin the boat with them on, I sold it and the windscreen looked as good as the day I bought it. rv...yes they were a little small, but for the most part, they did the job for me.

Guys,
Our local poker run was Saturday. It rained from showers to a light drizzel all day. With the deflectors of up, I could run wide open with no problems

See ya,
